Furry Senshi: Frontal Assaults Don't Usually Work As Planned [Episode 176848]

by Philip Weigel

"I don't like this." Minako muttered as she, Ami, Haruka, Julia and Britanny made their way through a warehouse. It never went this smooth. Granted, the warehouse was only an illusion, the thing was multi-leveled, several rooms, and had some pretty interesting things inside. Like that Tom and Jerry clock. Who knew Wererats liked those cartoons?

Still, with three Werecheetahs, two of which were magically enhanced, looking through all the rooms was easy. Julia and Ami just ran down the stairs while the other three confirmed that there were no Wererats in any of the rooms.

Ami had, since the third room, wondered if maybe that Wererat had lied to them to save her own skin. Still, at least they were in the right building for a Wererat hideout. Or at the very least, some weird French people. There was too much cheese and silver weapons laying around for it to be otherwise.

Getting to the bottom floor, the five stopped as they saw two huge glowing doors. They weren't very ornate, but they were large enough that a blimp, or Dragon, could easily fit through them and do what it wanted with little to no trouble.

It really wasn't a surprise when the doors opened on their own, the light from inside making it difficult to see properly for a second.

When the group could see properly again, they saw an elderly man sitting on a large chair slightly slumped down with his face partly hidden behind his hands. "Well, I was wondering how long it would take you to get here."

Julia frowned as she stepped forward and looked the room over. There were no exits, aside from the door, that she could see. The room itself was huge, almost like it was designed for thousands to ballroom dance, or a huge assembly. Something wasn't right here.

"To think that Hikaru's child would be a Senshi." The old man smirked as he suddenly shifted forms into a Wererat. "I should have seen it coming."

"Gothwrain!" Ami yelled as she was able to put two and two together. Charging forward, she idly wondered why he was smirking and acting so calmly as she powered up her magic, only to be yanked away by Britanny as several silver daggers hit where she was a moment ago.

Julia pulled her sword out, only for it to get kicked away from her hand, turning, she saw another older Wererat just before she got kicked in the knee. Stumbling slightly, the redhead lashed out with a foot, which the other female grabbed and used to throw her.

"Oh, Julia, how do you like my wife, Sherisha? The best fighter and assassin the world's ever seen." Turning his attention to the other Weres, he snapped a finger, the room itself glowing blue for a moment. "As for you three, I leave this for you." He chuckled evilly as a creature materialized in the room, a long, serpentine body that was light blue in color with a white underbelly and feather-like protrusions near its head. It had two panther-like legs and claws and a draconic head.

"An Abyssalisk!?" Julia's eyes widened in shock and fear. Those things were dangerous enough on their own. Capable of taking on a Dragon and winning. Not that that happened very often. Hell, she wouldn't even want to take one on without at least the Edge Guard and an Archmage or three backing her up. The fact that she had to deal with Gothwrain and Sherisha at the same time was not going to be easy.

"Eyes forward." Sherisha smirked before striking at Julia's knee again. The redhead twisted before landing an elbow strike on the offending limb before the assassin could pull it back, though it was a glancing blow at best.

The other girls quickly figured out that this thing was far more dangerous than they had originally though. The thing was tough enough that their physical strikes just didn't hurt it, plus it fought like some sort of naga or medusa didn't help any.

Groaning as she sat up from being knocked away from that last tail-strike, Minako shook her head and groaned, before grabbing her stomach and groaning. Super enhanced healing or no, that thing fucking HURT! Not to mention that it shot out some sort of spell beams at them. It wasn't the first time since she had been transformed that she was grateful for being a Werecheetah. Still, her left leg and tail were stone and the right side of her body felt numb. How the hell could they hurt this thing? All their combined attacks just made the thing annoyed.

Gothwrain chuckled, all was going according to plan. Well, not everything, but it was fairly close. Seeing one of the Werecheetahs, the slender one, try and rush up at him, he held up a hand, a shield forming in front of him, though the strength and speed of the blow had him reeling slightly. That girl knew how to hit. "Did you really think that your finding me here was accidental?" He asked as she continued to pound on his shield, weird, it was actually kind of hard to hold off the assault, physical strikes didn't hurt his shield in the slightest normally. "Any information you have I allowed you to have." He chuckled dangerously at the Werecheetah's anger.

"Oh, shut up!" Haruka cried out before jumping over another spell-beam. Seeing the way the floor turned to dust and even Gothwrain jumped out of his chair from that attack, she shuddered.

Julia jumped back from Sherisha, panting slightly as she saw the battle to the side. At least the Abyssalisk was just playing with the girls and not seriously going all out. Then again, perhaps it was because Gothwrain had summoned it there. Though, she had always thought those things were uncontrollable. Maybe if it was just Gothwrain and Sherisha, she could enjoy this battle. Still, she had to end this quickly.

Thankfully she knew more than a few techniques that could at least stun a Werecreature. Now if only the slippery rat would hold still long enough for her to use them.

Meanwhile Ami growled as she blasted the dammed naga-like creature again. It was slowing down slightly, but the thing seemed to be highly resistant, if not completely immune to any sort of magic. At the rate she was going, she'd tire out before she could stop it. The way she saw it, they'd need Saturn to pop up and blast this thing. 'Come to think of it, Neptune and Saturn aren't fighting right now.' She thought, though she knew that they and the Edge Guard were setting up the point for the Purification spell. They still needed help, a lot of help.

"Thanks, Britanny." Minako said as she panted slightly. The other Werecheetah had grabbed her and pulled her away before that thing had stepped on her.

"Not a problem. Think you can blast it?" Seeing Minako nod, she ran forward, drawing the snake-like thing's attention. Dammed thing was nearly as fast as she was and twice as agile. Even with the pot shots the other two were taking, okay, so those attacks were pretty dammed powerful, that thing just didn't want to drop. "Dammit," she muttered under her breath, "I wish Muffin, dad or Bri were here.

"...dead scream..." A green bolt of energy struck the creature in the head, causing it to scream and start firing randomly, destroying many surrounding objects.

Ami dodged and looked at Setsuna, actually grateful she showed up. "Thanks. What took you so long?"

"I was watching the Princess's battle and only now checked on yours." She said, jumping to the side as another spell beam turned the area that she and Ami were in to ice. "Did not see this thing showing up." She muttered to herself, which was understandable, as the thing was created from primordial chaos itself. Seeing Onoli keep Minako save from the attacks, she was grateful that she had brought him with. Saturn could've killed it, in fact, only Saturn or the Princess could really kill this thing out of the Senshi (though she and several others, if teamed up could really hurt and mess it up), but her attacks were too powerful for the small area, not to mention that they weren't picky on just whom they flattened.
