"Who's the father?" Brianna asked, hoping with all her heart the answer wouldn't be something disgusting like PeeWee.
"Ranma Saotome, a martial artist in Nerima Japan," answered Theodore Diggers, magus. "This is your oldest daughter, Jessica Diggers. I have done a quick scan and see no evidence of her siblings: Cyan, Tenma, Ariel, and Britanny Junior."
Thud! Thud!
Seeing that Britanny had fainted and Brianna had fainted again, Gina expressed the hope that they'd get it out of their system quickly.
"She had a glimpse of the chronoverse, and so knew she was travelling in time, but had no idea why," said the new grandfather bemused at the new title.
"I'll arrange the transportation," volunteered Gina who wasn't quite ready to become an aunt yet but really wanted to see someone who could apparently keep Brianna happy!
There was dead silence after Setsuna's explanation.
"What exactly does that mean?" Minako asked after she'd tried to figure it out.
Ami cleared her throat. "What Setsuna-san meant was that there are a number of potential futures that still result in Crystal Tokyo. In several of these futures, one of us has married this 'Ranma Saotome' and ended up having a daughter."
The various daughters, being Senshi themselves, had recovered and all nodded at this.
Ami continued, trying to deal with this as a logic problem or intellectual exercise and not deal with the fact that she had an extremely attractive girl only a few years younger than herself calling her "Mom." It was not as easy as it sounded. "So each of us met this martial artist in Nerima under different circumstances, we dated, married, and... had families by someone we haven't even met yet."
Again more nodding.
"Which means that if one of us gets Ranma... what happens to the other daughters?" Minako sounded like she didn't want to know the answer.
"They vanish, as possibilities unrealized," answered Setsuna. "Likewise, if none of our number marries Ranma - *all* will vanish - and in fact will never have been."
There were some sniffles from the various Senshi daughters at the thought that their mothers, who loved them in their futures - were clearly considering never meeting their father. Consigning them to nonexistence except as a barely remembered dream.
"This really is screwed UP," said Minako, but winked at her daughter. She knew that she was supposed to find a cute boyfriend. Now she had a name and general district of Tokyo to work at it.
Ami's daughter slipped her mother a note with her father's mother's address on it.
"So now what do we do?" Usagi said, trying not to notice how much more friendly and adult this daughter was over Chibi-usa.
Hotaru tried not to stare at her own daughter and wondered what this all meant.
Several forces were converging on the Tendo Dojo.
Though there were problems enough there already.
"You're WHAT?!"
"She's WHAT?!"
"SAOTOME! What kind of immoral son have you raised to..." Soun's voice trailed off. "I'm a grandpa? I have three granddaughters? Saotome! You're a genius!"
"I think you're missing a point here, Daddy," said Nabiki, whose hair was still looking askew. She looked over at her own daughter and twitched several times. Her? And SAOTOME?! How? No, this had to be a bad dream, right?
"Oh father, father, father," said Kasumi.
Kasumi's daughter stood up. "Oh my. I think I should make tea."
Ranma wondered why he was beginning to get this awful looming disaster sensation.
