"Gonna be late, gonna be late!"
The blonde, bow-tipped girl named Minako Aino was rushing through the streets of Juuban, carrying a basket which was swinging wildly back and forth.
"Minaaaa..." a white-furred cat stuck its head out of the basket... although it looked like it was slowly turning green under its fur. "Can you please slow it down? I think I'm going to puke..."
"I don't wanna be late again," Minako responded. "Ami just HAS to tech me how to do this arithmetic stuff... My teach warned me: One more messed up test and it would turn out baaadly!"
"And just how baaad can it get?" Artemis asked, while trying not to fall out of the basket.
Minako sweated. "Trust me, you don't want to meet my teacher when she's angry..."
Just then, something unexpected happened: A massive, broad beam made of green light came down from the sky and smashed down on the pavement in front of them.
"GAH!" Minako yelped and barely managed to jump back. "What is this?"
"A... a Youma attack?" Artemis gasped.
The broad, green beam began moving towards the Senshi of love.
"Looks more like 'The Empire strikes back' to me..." Minako gulped and moved backwards. Then she turned around and ran while the beam began to chase her.
"I take that back, more like an attack of the Borg..."
"What's a B-b-borg?" Artemis asked while the basket was being shaken around.
"Star Trek, you philistine," Minako replied.
"Resistance is futile," an eerie voice came from the beam, which was coming closer.
Minako's face got drained of all color upon hearing this. "EEEEEEEK! I DON'T WANNA BE ASSIMILATED!"
And then the green beam touched her and her advisor... and everything disappeared in a bright flash.
----
Minako appeared in a dark room, a short distance over the cold metal floor. She and her basket fell down with a heavy 'thud', while the basket tilted over and a white, fuzzy ball came rolling out.
"Oooooh... what hit me?" Minako groaned.
Artemis began untangling his limbs. "I think I'm really going to puke now..." he mumbled.
Minako stood up and looked around. "This doesn't look like a Borg ship..."
Suddenly, a bright cone of light appeared in front of her. And in the middle of that light... a floating cat with wings hovered down.
"Resistance is futile," Chaos said again in the eerie voice, then it turned back to normal as he was laughing and rolling around in the air. "Man, that was priceless..."
"A flying cat?" Minako sweat-dropped. "Now I've seen everything..."
Artemis stared. "Can you teach me that?" he finally asked.
Chaos calmed down. "All right, enough with the jokes... Allow me to introduce myself: I am Chaos, omnipotent being of the cosmos, blah blah blah... I'll make it short: You have been elected to take part in a contest of battle skills against warriors of other planets, timelines and universes. You will fight against someone else that starts with the letter 'V'... Venus... and then you'll fight your way up to the top... until you win."
"And if I lose?" Minako asked. Chaos grinned. "Well... that's up to you! You can stay and watch the other fights, or go back home... I can take you right to the place and time where I found you, anytime! You just have to say it!"
"I'm not that strong!" Minako said bashfully.
The blue cat grinned. "Now, now... Don't be modest! I've seen what happened to any enemy of yours that was hit by a Venus Love and Beauty Shock... trust me, that's an experience no one wants to share."
Artemis frowned. "She has duties back in Juuban... we don't have the time to do something like this. Minako, are you really going to listen to that feathered freak?"
Chaos' eyes narrowed. "I really don't like it when I'm insulted, you know?"
He snapped with his fingers... and the white mooncat disappeared. Minako gasped. "Artemis!"
"Relax, he's right here," Chaos chuckled and held up a white sock-puppet that was on his left hand/paw... it looked surprisingly similar to Minako's feline advisor.
Chaos moved the sock-puppets mouth. "We don't have the time, you're a feathered freak, blah blah blah..." he imitated Artemis' voice.
'I really don't like this...' the sock-puppet thought.
"Put him down right now!" Minako demanded. "Or... or I'll..."
"What do you do?" Chaos grinned. "You'll stomp with that pretty little foot of yours? Calm down, I'm not going to hurt him... I just want to hear that you agree to fight in my name, against the champions of my rival."
The blonde Senshi sighed. Well, if he really could send them back to the exact place where he had 'collected' them...
"All right, I'll do it! But you better turn back my cat right now!"
Chaos smirked, threw the sock-puppet up in the air and snapped his fingers.
In a flash, the puppet turned back into the white feline, who fell down into Minako's arms. His eyes were spinning circles...
"Let's never, ever do this again..." he moaned.
