She had to wait a little for the noise to die down before she could continue.
"Excuse me, some of you don't remember things before the event, but some of us do. Some of us remember only one lifetime, and others have two. We don't know how it happened but there were people here before the Event, and the costumes changed to become real. Whether we existed prior to the Event and were dimensionally shifted to merge with counterparts here, we don't know. It's possible we never will," said Sailor Mercury. "Yet we are here now, that much is certain. We are in a world that is ill prepared for our presence."
"They will try to stop us!" declared a Magneto, striding forward. "They will try to incarcerate us and use our abilities, or they will simply try to kill us out of ignorance and hatred!"
"That may be so," admitted Mercury. "Many of us have legal status which could be disputed. It may even be possible that we'd be sued for copyright infringement by the authors and companies which have published our exploits. We can't simply strike out at the rest of the world, though."
"That's right," declared a Tenchi Masaki. "We can't go fighting innocents."
"You really think there are any innocents left in this world?" asked a RIFTS style full conversion cyborg.
"You'd be surprised," said Doctor Strange, his cloak billowing in some odd breeze.
"We know that roughly half of us remember the Event and things that happened in THIS world," said Mercury. "Half of us are completely the people who were being portrayed in this 'cosplay' contest. Those of us who are heroes or want that sort of role, we're going to have to organize and police ourselves - otherwise someone like that not-nice Naraku person will get us all into a confrontation with authorities - despite what our individual preferences or plans might be."
"Who's leading this group, you?" asked a Koga from Inuyasha.
"No, it was suggested by Marvel-sama," said Mercury, indicating a muscular man in a red costume with a white demi-cape.
One of the Ranma spoke first. "Okay, that works."
