"You're a cheap, crappy game center: All of them are out-of-date!" Nabiki said in a very raised voice as her parting words.
"Nabiki, stop it. You're embarrassing," Ranma said, "guiding" her back down the stairs and towards the street.
"We weren't doing any harm; we paid for the use of their equipment; we promised to {urk} pay for any damages: We were legitimate customers!" Nabiki usually didn't allow her emotions show when she became upset; but Ranma had triggered something in her. She thought that, maybe, just possibly, she had somebody she could invest her emotions into. The cynic was feeling the yen to believe in something...or somebody.
"We'll find another place to practice. -Like at your dojo."
"No. This has become a matter of principle: They didn't give us a refund!"
Outside, Ranma walked with her, using his limited knowledge of girls to try to get her interested in some shops and restaurants that a girl on a date might like.
But Nabiki mind wouldn't relax. There, in the back of her mind, a scheme was ready to be hatched. She just needed the right inspiration to bring it out.
"Okay, if not this cafe, how about this store? It's got clothes; girls' love clothes. Right?" Getting very little response, Ranma went inside the open-front shop. "Look: this might look good over that kimono."
"It wouldn't, Ranma; believe me. Besides. that's a guy's coat."
"Well... How about this? Ain't it colorful? Your kimono is, too!"
"That's a serape from Latin America. Not only would its colors clash with mine, so would the style. Come on, Ra-" INSPIRATION.
Like a figure out of a dark and moody, neo-western anime, a fighter returned to the game center. This time the man in the straw hat casting a shadow over his eyes was covered by a black, cape-like poncho; 100% guaranteed to be waterproof.
