What is the Master PC?

Put simply it is a program that can edit real people with in a 30 kilometer radius of the computer running it. How it acheived this must remain something of a mystery but, whether by magic or a science-so-advanced-that-it-is-indistinguishable-from-magic, the program could alter the body and mind of any individual within range, or run a macro that affected anybody matching certain parameters. While it could not change history it could affect memories and perceptions - well, as long as the program was running because, although physical changes persisted, mental effects sometimes required continual broadcast (by whatever means the program used) from the computer to be maintained.

The program's interface was window driven with menus and dialog boxes that allowed an experienced computer user to easily make extensive modifications to a person's profile. However most users tended to just fall back on the convenience of the old-fashioned command line interface. While the natural language parser was amazingly sophisticated, this habit, and a tendancy to ignore the help features, meant that many users fumbled through the system by trial and error - most often by error.

The program had originally been distributed by CD, but had propogated itself across the internet via email. Because most virus wary users wisely deleted executables from unknown addresses, the program's self distribution was checked and most often only fell into the hands of complete idiots.
