A Master PC World: Where do they come from? [Episode 17774]

by Dark Z

There was an endless void within which nothing existed.

Until some unknown critical mass was reached, and the void became a space for an object. From one point of view it seemed like a monolith, black.

From another point of view it looked like a Sphere.

From yet another angle it looked like a verb.

A container.

A container that held everything and nothing.

It was. It wasn’t

Time. Space. Why?

Why not?

Yes.

It decided and all that could be, COULD be.

Why not indeed.

Then there were voices.

So many, yet so few.

Many could be heard, but few called out.

-----

“I didn't create these weapons to be wasted like that!”
“Using them this way is the only thing that gives them any meaning at all”
“It's hopeless, isn't it?”
“I've made my decision”
“You're not a human being, you're a plant”
“I know that”
“You're a superior being!”
“I disagree.”

The sound of gunfire.

----

“You can destroy planets, but you can never destroy what I am, friend.”

“You... what-- what are you?”

“I am the hope of the universe... I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am protector of the innocence, I am the light in the darkness, I am truth...... Ally to good, nightmare to you!”

the universe trembled.

----

A sound … a song…

“Burning orange light slowly melt into the sky
Sparkles in your eyes aglow
Cold and heartless walls and never ending sighs
When you held me close, were gone
I'd have never known if you had never shown
Someday I'd have wings to fly
But who'd ever dream these arms were meant to break
So I must go
Before you see me fall
I recall sweet and enchanted days
Your smile chased the clouds away
All fragments of our memory survive
Shining in the moonless night
Life time is a match
A momentary flash
Yet this forever remains
You are in my heart
Until my heart's not mine
So remember
This never is Good-bye
I recall sweet and enchanted days
Your smile chased the clouds away
All fragments of our memory survive
Shining in the moonless night
Stay close to my soul
Like you're close to my hands
Darling if I fade away
You are in my heart
Until my heart's not mine
But I must go
Before you see me fall
So remember
This never is Good-bye
Please remember
There'll never be Good-bye”

Silence. Then…..

"Kenichi… Who...am...I?"

----

A voice… a single, voice speaking over itself before, after, during…..

“But there is still the lingering matter of witnesses. I admit, I have a fascination with those who adapt and survive against all odds... they rather remind me of myself. If for no other reason, I have argued to..."preserve" you, for a time. While I believe a civil servant, like yourself, understands the importance of discretion, my employers are not quite so trusting. And rather than continually subjective to the *irresistible* human temptation of "Telling All", we have decided to convey you somewhere you can do no possible harm... and where no harm can come to you. I'm sure you can imagine there are worse alternatives...”

“rise and... shine. Not that I wish... to imply that you have been sleeping on... the job. No one is more deserving of a rest, and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well... let's just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up,...”

An alien sound of chanting…..

"We'll see...about that."

----
Silence

A screaming void of sound.

Finally, two voices yelling over the roaring silence with their very souls.

“Rasengan!”

“Chidori!”

Two forces met and a choice was made.

----

And so it was.
