Heian Era: Cat's Curiosity [Episode 177785]

It wasn't exactly a standoff, but then no one knew what do to 'break' it, as they were unsure of what could be done. To get at the little yosei, the Senshi would have to dive under the boy's shirt, which wasn't all that bad a proposition, but it would be terribly embarrassing. Ranma didn't know what he could do about having a small girl with butterfly wings in his clothing, but he was aware that it wasn't exactly the most dignified of situations. And the yosei just seemed to be content to peek out over the collar of his shirt, almost as if she felt protected and sheltered there.

This was, of course, obviously a ridiculous moment for everyone involved, and they knew it.

"Do you really have to stand around like this?" asked one of the girls in the crowd.

Sailor Mars glanced out of the corner of her eye at the speaker. "It's better to be safe than sorry."

"Which means that it could be bad," Venus pointed out. "If it is, then we might have to save the boy from it."

"That is pretty much the problem...."

"It just doesn't look like it's about to attack though."

"Then it might jump out at us...." the shrine priestess in high heels muttered.

Scratching her head, Sailor Moon shrugged. "At least it doesn't look like the yoma that we're used to fighting."

"But it could be worse. For all that we know, it could be something that tempts small children away from their families so that a swarm of them could attack the kid!"

"Now, why would it want to do that?" asked a new voice in a rather... strange 'accent', and whose appearance made some of those standing nearby tense up.

"Because.... eh?"

"Her kind isn't the sort to do such nasty things. Actually, they are more likely to lead a lost child back to their family than do anything bad."

"Really? That's nice of them," the reincarnated princess murmured.

"True. But just so that you know, there are some really bad folks around, and they'd do some of the sort of thing that you talked about."

"And you are...."

"Just trying to figure out what's going on," the obviously not human newcomer replied. "I heard that there was something out here that wasn't right, and I found this."

"But you're not.... She is... a cat...."

"No," Mars interrupted.

"What? Why not?"

"That look. Those two tails instead of one...."

"Yeah?"

Mars' eyes were wide with surprise. "Nekomata. She's a nekomata."

"I didn't think that I was hiding it," commented the newcomer, cocking her head to the side, and who happened to be:
