Gate of Light - Lightwings!: Interlude : Say, Just What Happened To The Dark Kingdom, Anyhow? [Episode 177990]

by Linnara

Once upon a time, there had been an Entity known among her fellow Invaders and others as High Queen Metallia, who had had a fair amount of followers and slaves, some mortal, some formerly so, the great majority not at all, but anyway, powerful she was.

'Was' being the operative word, here...

Sailor Pluto smiled savagely, remembering.

And who remembers you or your minions, now, oh High Queen Of Nothing?

Oh, it was fitting that almost nobody - nobody at all - remembered neither the High Queen Metallia or the self-styled 'Queen' Beryl any more... Or so Sailor Pluto felt, anyhow.

Stupid Invader Queen-bitch, thought she could eat the Moon Kingdom and get away with it, ha ha ha ha, hadn't Queen Serenity showed her the errors of her ways now...

Oh, not that it was just High Queen Metallia and her forces that had ended up quite - crispy - in that little endeavor of the Invaders, quite the contrary, it had apparently been a joint attack run by several factions, after all.

Pluto remembered the shrieks of the hordes of Invaders as the Light grew and grew and grew, eating through the sea of people-shaped shadows with sunglasses and otherwise ... Ahh, revenge was sweet, and gloating was fun, sometimes.

And that bloody stupid 'Queen' Beryl. Not only had she ended up a thrall to Metallia because of some stupid crush on Prince Endymion, and had ended up leading a large part of the invasion forces to boot - she had had the gall to still keep on causing trouble right in the present, right up to - well, fairly recently, all things considered.

Ahh, well. A certain girl called Tsukino Usagi had fixed that right up, alright...

Not that she'd really meant her Wish to do all that it had ended up doing, Pluto warranted, but whatever, whatever.

Pluto grinned coldly to herself, remembering what had happened. This timeline's Earth had always been on the target list of various and sundry kinds of Invaders and Enemies in general, even more so then most of the nearby timeline 'threads' as far as she knew, and the weakening of the 'Sealing' had just happened to come at a time when yet another Wave of Invasions were just starting out. It hadn't taken long for those who had been Sealed - well, the chief minion types had, anyway, even while the Invader Boss proper types were still mostly comatose - had started kicking ass, taking names, and generally consolidating their position.

Beryl and her Four Generals, nicely brainwashed as usual, had made good use of the decidedly minor-class Youma's they had access to to carve out a not very large but rather vital place for themselves in the scheme of things. They'd started sending out Youmas and such on energy-harvesting missions, and had even started to tangle with the just-starting-to-go-active Sailor Senshi, when -

Ahh, yes. Pluto smiled.

That was when 'Lightwings', AEGIS agent extraordinaire, just had to come on the scene, wasn't it now?
