"I am proud of you, Ranma Saotome," Goemon Ishikawa said with that quiet, serious way of his. "It is an extremely gallant and noble deed you are undergoing."
"It's extreme, alright. I wouldn't eat snails for a friggin dame," Jigen said. "It turns my stomach just being at the same table with them."
"Mine, too," Ranma said through his screwed-up face as 'he' started 'his' second serving. "Too much garlic." 'He' took another unlady-like big bite out of 'his' palate-clearing baguette, and washed it down with another swig of lemon tea. "But what I really can't stand is all the butter. I’m not used to it, and it’s also on everything else they served! It's not in real Japanese cookin'."
The brim of Jigen's fedora rose up from over his eyes. "What? Are you telling me you rather eat just the snails?"
"Sure! I've been eatin' them all a my life. A lot of the timse it was just about the only thing me and Pop could scavenge to eat."
"Aw, man, now I really am going to be sick. Goemon, you say this dame isn't really a dame, but a teenage boy named Ranma?" Both martial artists nodded. "Nah!... ." said the man in the white shirt pushed his hat back down over his eyes. "I'd rather believe this is part of one of Fujiko's more elaborate schemes. I’ve got too much respect for the lunatic genius. I mean, I know Lupin chases anything in skirts, but a guy?"
"Huh??"
"I have no problem. Many honorable warriors have done less than honorable things in order not to be even more dishonorable with a woman." Goemon pronounced.
"You guys are sayin' Lupin don't care that I'm really a guy, inside, right? Hmff! I've known people like that, before."
"See, Jigen, Ranma is amenable."
"I AM not!"
"The life of a woman depends on your actions," Goemon urged.
"Hey, Fujiko, you can fool this sucker for any dame in distress, but I don’t care if you “come back”. Be a broad pretending to be a guy pretending to be a broad! –Friggin! I don’t know what your plan is, but that friggin makes it sound freaking stupid.”
“Are you callin’ me stupid!?”
“He is saying that he does not believe you can meet the challenge,” Goemon said.
“Oh, yeah!? If pretendin’ to be this woman not only saves me but her, too, I’ll show ya that there ain’t nothing Ranma Saotome can’t do!”
“Not Ranma, you mean “Fujiko Mine”,” the samurai ronin prompted.
“Yeah! Her, too!”
