In truth though, he was exhausted. Even if he'd been planning it retroactively, ripping the Gates from their specified location had been a first class chore. Not that he'd let anyone know he was weakened, one didn't show weakness in his position.
Of course, he understood time had been rewritten. That according to what he knew from these Gates, he hadn't gone through the last eight plus years in the Dark Kingdom.
His father had sent him there, and a yoma had given him the ability to siphon energy so that the child could survive long enough to be a tool.
The tool turned on his captors and tormentors, having learned the ways of the Kingdom. The strong ruled those weaker, predator and prey, Darwinian ethics. Run away when you must, destroy when you can.
He'd made alliances and broken them, and been rewarded for his industry. A few had gathered underneath him as he'd clawed his way up the ladder. There was no loyalty here though, it WAS the Dark Kingdom. Now under new management.
He knew a few things, had a few talents, leakage from lives ended abruptly by Sailor Pluto's eliminations.
Metal'la and Beryl. A tough fight, especially having to take one right after the other. Still, he'd learned his lessons well. Oh yes.
He needed more reliable minions, especially after devastating his own ranks in his ascension to the Dark Lord position. Dark King. Dark Emperor. Oh well, the title didn't matter. The power mattered.
Now that the Gates were his and bound within layers of defenses to keep certain teleports away, unless they liked materializing in constantly distorting and folding space, he could begin drawing its powers into himself and use its functions himself. More responsibly and keeping with his own agenda, but nonetheless.
Ranma considered his next move.
