Ranma blinked, seeing a floating ball of energy. “Okay ... this is new,” he muttered.
“My Liege,” said the ball, “I have searched for you long and hard.”
Ranma could only blink. Okay, it wasn’t a fiancée or fiancé, not someone his Pops had screwed over, and not someone after his hide for any number of reasons. I ain’t sure I know how ta deal with this...
“My Liege,” said the ball of light once again. “I have come to inform you that the other Star Souls wish to converse with you about the recent happenings within our corner of the Universe. I apologize, as this goes against your wishes, but such a summons cannot be ignored.”
Ranma could only blink, absolutely no clue as to what was going on. “Um...”
“You have absolutely no clue who I am, do you?”
Ranma shook his head.
The ball of light seemed to sigh. “I am Lighthope, your advisor in the Court of Stars.”
“...”
“The realm that the conscience beings that represent the stars, used to guide the path of this galaxy and the universe as a whole?”
“...”
“The guy who tells you what to do?”
“Sorry, not ringing any bells,” said Ranma.
The ball seemed to even develop a sweatdrop now. “Okay then, do you remember anything about your time as the Soul of Sol?”
“I ain’t a dancer.”
“Not Soul music, you fool, Sol as in the star that this dustball of a planet revolves around!
“ACK! Sorry, my Liege, I did not mean to insult you!” said the ball, trying to appear apologetic.
“Um ... that’s okay,” said Ranma, still not sure what was going on.
“Very well,” said the Lighthope, glad he was not going to be punished. His Lord always seemed found of the worlds that orbited his anchor.
Ranma scratched his head. The name ‘Lighthope’ reminded him of some old American cartoon Kasumi liked to watch. She-dude? Blond-O?
“Anyway,” said the globe. “I know you are currently in the middle of your experiment, but we need you back now.”
“Um ... why?”
“The council!” it explained, as if that answered everything.
“And this council is...?” asked Ranma.
What did I ever do to deserve this? asked the ball, as it once again tried to explain things to Ranma.
