He thought they were in the clear.
"Go, Prince!" Kyle shouted, just before another groan of pain escaped his lips.
He thought wrong. Faroush could only hope he would be able to put enough distance between himself and the girls so they would not be able to catch up to he and Miakis. As long as he made it back to the palace....
"Back already?" His aunt's voice stopped him in his tracks, as Sialeeds stepped in front of him, cutting off his retreat. "Weren't you going to assert your manliness?" she asked him with no small amount of amusement, tilting her head.
"Hussies!" Lym cried out, sounding close by. Faroush chanced a glance, and saw that she was breathing heavily, gulping in air from all the running she had done. Pointing wildly back at the rune shop and then at her loyal bodyguard, the princess screamed, "Hussies, hussies, hussies! T-T-That's not d-decent--" Her eyes met Faroush's, and she flushed anew. "And in p-public, too!"
"How could you leave me behind, Prince?" Lyon lamented from the younger girl's side, her large eyes trying to meet his hesitantly. "If I'm not there to protect you, who knows what can happen?"
Lymsleia seized on that. "Lyon!" she commanded sternly, turning to the other girl. "Protect Brother's chastity from the scarlet women!"
"Yes, Princess!" Lyon agreed instantly, saluting her.
"Well, I don't want Brother to be led astray by men," Lym continued mumbling to herself, losing herself in her own little world, "but the other extreme is just as bad...."
Faroush hung his head. He just knew that Miakis was giggling at his side, still holding onto his hand. Oh, his reputation was never going to recover, not in a hundred years. At least he had avoided the curse....
