As Usagi straddled the sleeping Ranma, a smirk of pure joy erupted from her face. Just as soon as Usagi had begun feeding Ranma, her awakening senses felt the call of Jusenkyo’s magic emanating from within Ranma’s soul. “You’re a far better catch then at first glance aren’t you my dear.” Usagi whispered as she used the Ginzuishou unconsciously to alter her milk. The new concoction that she was feeding Ranma would manipulate Ranma’s curse to transform the boy into a Darkstalker mate worthy of her. Once Usagi was completely sure that Ranma would be irreversibly changed, she stopped feeding him and waited for her magic to work its effects.
For some reason, probably caused by the transformation magic, Ranma groggily started to wake up. He was completely disoriented and starting to get feverish. All Ranma could see was the vague outline of Usagi and so he muttered out, “W-wha?”
Usagi's smile grew larger upon hearing Ranma's voice; his voice genuinely stirred her heart. Vampire/Succubus or not, Usagi was still a (relatively) innocent girl who wanted to have a significant other to snuggle up against when the day was over. Usagi knew in her heart that she could spend a long lifetime with this young man that she had claimed. Shockingly, it seemed that he was able to produce enough energy so that she could be single with him if she so desired. That last bit of knowledge pleased Usagi greatly. Although she wasn't ashamed of her true heritage, there were still large parts of her psyche that were from Usagi the human instead of Usagi the Darkstalker. Usagi just sweetly smiled, gently caressed Ranma’s face, and kissed his forehead. Usagi then sweetly whispered into the feverish Ranma’s ear, "Don't worry love; you're almost through the worst of the transformation. And then, once the process is over, we can finish claiming each other as mates."
Even though Ranma had lost the ability by this point to consciously comprehend what Usagi was saying, a part of him resisted. Ranma’s sub-conscious absolutely refused to lose against the transformation that was happening within him. Ranma had survived the Neko-Ken, he had survived the curse, he had survived the fiancées, and he had survived the craziness of Nerima without breaking. Ranma’s subconscious was determined not to lose against this latest bout of insanity.
Sensing the turmoil within his soul as Ranma futilely fought against the transformation, Usagi could barely stop herself from crowing in triumph. She then pulled Ranma’s limp body into a bear hug and whispered into his right ear, “Excellent my love. Your will to try to overcome the inevitable proves that I was right in my choice. You’re that special gem that is rarely found but greatly treasured. I would have hated for you to become some spineless and weak lovesick puppy; it would not be dignified for me to have such a mate. With you by my side, helping me in the future and fathering my children, the Neo-Serenity/Aensland Clan will never fall!”
