Since it was a combination of various things (mainly Siberian Tiger and Grey Wolf) that didn't quite have the same architecture, he settled for the wincing part.
Genma merely blinked comically from within a pillar of ice.
"You know, old man," growled Ranma to the icy figure of his father. "This might be just one of your better ideas. Now, being a dutiful son and all - I should make sure you get some benefit out of this. Hey GUIDE! I need ya to show me which cursed spring needs some ice ta cool it down some."
Genma was frozen in place, therefore he couldn't look even more dismayed than at finding himself encased. Could he?
Ranma had considered it. He'd considered long and hard. He'd thought about all the possibilities.
That's why his dear old dad had been left to thaw out in a panda spring. Situation was complicated enough, and he'd gotten used to the smell of wet panda anymore.
A glance at the timer and an experiment with fast-forwarding indicated that the timer was running on Ranma-time. If he wanted to fast-forward to the arrival at the Tendo Dojo, it would only take a minute. If he wanted to rewind to an earlier point, he could do that too. Just as long as he finished by:
