The defenses held along the edges of where the forest gave way to mountains.
But there had been loss.
"They carried the bodies away when they could," Cologne noted. "We might have to face our own risen from the dead in future waves."
"That will not be," Kasumi assured Cologne. "We took precautions and laid blessings before the battle."
"That's one ease off our minds then," Nodoka noted. "But can we keep this up?"
The silence that followed made the answer obvious.
"Let us list what we need then," Nabiki said, taking the task of organizing the situation. "We need to build our fighting strength, organize it, arm it and take it to the dead things in mountains."
"We need to 'take it' to the mountains first," Cologne noted. "We need to keep the enemy busy while we train our forces and strengthen ourselves."
"That means splitting the fighters we do have between training and fighting," Nodoka noted.
"We can help a little on that," Keiichi noted. "We got a look at some of these bugs, and Skuld, Megumi and I think we can have some armor for the Arachne and Kali in the next week or so."
"That still leaves how to split our forces," Nodoka said, looking to where Nabiki was jotting stuff down.
"Well, Urd and Belldandy have no problem teaching alchemists, mikos and mystics, it seems," Nabiki said. "I think Cologne, you have some time to watch Genma do likewise for fighters, plus I think we still have a marine martial-arts instructor and a few JSDF training personel. As for attacking, the cream of the crop, I'd say."
"Ranma, Shampoo, Akane," Nodoka agreed. "If this armor works out, Kodachi and Ukyou as well."
"That should give the undead a headache," Cologne agreed. "Too bad we don't have the Hibiki boy around here for this."

Ranma, Akane and Shampoo looked up the path into the mountains towards where they saw the nerubians setting guards.
The strike force coming with them was small, made up of ten kumo, two kali mikos and three giant spiders. But really, the three of them were the bulk of the threat heading up into the passages.
