Ran: Prince of Pluto: Peace and War [Episode 183380]

by The Demented Redhead

“Oh my, what happened to your hair, Ranma-kun?” asked Kasumi.

“Finally,” muttered Ran, rubbing his forehead. “Let’s just say that the Broken Bokken Baka did this with his latest attempt to ‘remove the foul sorcerer.’”

“So it gave you a new hairdo, Saotome,” smirked Nabiki.

“Among other things,” smirked Ran.

Ryoga was growling; angered that he was being ignored.

“Just try it, child,” glared Ran from the corner of his eyes, his right hand holding a ball of energy the size of a basketball, “and see how fast I send you to meet your ancestors.”

“There will be no fighting in this house,” declared Nodoka.

Ran sighed as the energy dispersed. “As you wish, but if the baka attacks me, I will kill him.”

“Boy, how dare you do such a thing!” bellowed Genma, the only thing ending the tirade there was the fact that saying his son was being dishonorable might get his stomach slit.

“I gave fair warning,” shrugged Ran.

“Should we set down and eat?” asked Kasumi.

“How dare he do that?” yelled Ranma in the forest, clutching his injured side, and looking at a mirror that was showing the world through Ran’s eyes. “Who does he think he is?”

“I believe he called himself Prince Ran of Pluto,” said a female voice.

Ranma turned to see a girl, slightly resembling his female form, standing before him, wearing old clothes. “Who are you?”

“My name was Miranda, formerly of the lands of France. I died during the French Revolution.”

“... Okay, so how does a dead chick end up here?”

“The soul that makes us all up was mine during that time. My reincarnation was to be you.”

“I AIN’T A GIRL!” Ranma yelled.

“I never said you were, despite your gender curse,” said Miranda.

“I don’t believe I ever was a girl in a past life, neither.”

“What you believe has little affect on reality, my child,” said an elderly man, walking towards the two, wearing a toga. “We can no more choose how we enter the world than we can choose to alter reality itself.

“And in cause you are wondering, I was your incarnation during the Greek Empire, Diotius.”

Ranma blinked. “Um...”

“It is quite simple child,” said Miranda. “Ran was your first life, but he died. He was reincarnated a few more times, one of them being Dio here. He died, and I think there were two other lifetimes between him and me. I died, and was reincarnated as you.”

“I ain’t a girl,” stated Ranma.

“Reincarnation doesn’t care about such propaganda, my dear friend,” said Diotius. “Unless you are immortal or a deity of some type, you will grow old and die, as all living things do. And you will be reincarnated once more, and end up possibly being a girl. It doesn’t matter what your feelings are towards the gender, the reality is that in the end, they mean nothing.”

Ranma looked at them with confusion, before he turned towards the glass again. “So how do I get back in control?”

“It will be hard to do,” said Miranda. “He is quite well versed in the rules of this world, having been here the longest. But he seems more intent on bridging the gap between you and himself.”

“Huh?”

“He wants to live again, but doesn’t want you to die, as it were,” said Diotius. “He also wants to help fix your life, not that I blame him for that.”

“Oh hush,” said Miranda. “We were each allowed to make our own mistakes, let the boy have his chance.”

“We would fair much better if we were all linked,” said the Greek. “What is the use of learning from one’s mistake if when we are reincarnated; we truly are doomed to repeat them?”

“But that would... Would you stop trying to break that soul mirror,” glared Miranda at Ranma, who had been trying to blast the Soul Mirror open. “If you do so, then you will be trapped in here until Ran dies, which means you wouldn’t even have a body to go back to.”

“I gotta stop him before he wrecks my life!” yelled Ranma.

“I fail to see how he could do any worse than you,” said Diotius.

“My life ain’t that bad.”

“I’ve seen sieges during wars with more stability than your life.”

“That is enough!” yelled Miranda. “The boy is allowed to screw up his own life, despite how you may feel.”

“That’s right. ... Hey!”

“And this is our future,” muttered the Greek.

“Setsuna,” started Minako. “If it turns out your son is pulling a Starlight...”

“I am not engaging my reborn son, Minako,” glared the Senshi of Time.

Makoto sighed. So much for her chance.
