"Take her head in your lap, stroke her hair, try to be encouraging," advised Rei to her Master in a whisper, leaning close.
"Ya sure about that?" asked Ranma. "I mean, she's drooling and stuff."
Rei silently nodded.
Ranma shrugged and sat down on the cot before scootching closer to Misato. Rei helped position the former captain.
"She's not twitching as much," whispered Ranma as the woman seemed to relax some.
Rei nodded and went over to the desk so that she could watch for a few minutes and try to make sense of the details she'd seen. Misato had been bloodied and in chains, her eyes put out and her tongue cut off. The chains had included several oddly shaped weights, though there were other such weights lying about her that had apparently been cut loose.
Knowing that Misato had a problem with smoking and drinking, Rei had been able to determine that two of the cut-away weights had resembled a bottle and another a pack of cigarettes. The cut away weights must therefore be things cut from her during the conditioning and orientation.
Rei kept her face impassive, calmly watching as Misato quieted and a faint smile appeared on the new slavegirl's face. After considering that, she went over to assist her Master.
