Thankfully, when the M-66 robot started attacking, the Japanese officials hoding the press conference were quickly shuffled out another exit by their bodyguards.
The members of the foreign press, however, were not. They were the first to be cut down by the eye laser the humanoid robotic assassin fired.
The reporter representing the Daily Bugle could have been a victim, if it weren't for one interfering spider.
"Hey... if I were you, you better high-tail it back to your boss, old J. J," Spiderman called out to the reported, as he had fired his webbing on the robot's head, covering it neck up.
The reporter, shocked to responded except with a nod, quickly did as told, as Spiderman started to do a swing kick(ie swing on his webbing to do a kick) while the robot frantically removed the webbing on its head.
Just as the final pieces of webbing was removed, the kick connected, sending the assassin robot back several feet and on to its back. Spiderman then webbed the robot to the floor before it could get up.
Of course Spiderman could only watch as the robot tore through its webbing confines and face the one who impeded its mission. 'Uh oh. Looks like I got it mad,' thought the costumed superhero as the left eye glowed again.
"Suit Diagnostics completed sir. It's at 100% power and ready to go."
"Good. What's my estimated ETA?"
"Approximately 5 to 10 minutes from the company facilities to the location of the press conference, at most 5 if you start out in Power Mode."
"Then Power Mode it is." Kin Nocturne didn't think he would be in action so soon, but the attack which happened on live television is obviously connected to Kuno, or anyone sympathetic to him. The appearance of Spiderman was surprising, but right now he had a madmen to stop. Although Spiderman could be a good ally to have in the coming days...
All he hoped was the information he had on Kuno's 'State of Mind' wase enough so he can force a quick confrontation. The faster this ends, the faster order is restored.
"Dragon Suit, Activate Power Mode!"
"Man... what have they been feeding this thing? This thing's like the Energizer Bunny!" Spiderman quipped, as he kept dodging the lasers. No matter what he did, the robot did not go down.
Suddenly an explosion knocked the robot from the back, sending it flying. Spiderman then saw a black and grey robotic like figure fly into the room. It was about 7-8 feet tall, somewhat builky, had dragon-like wings of metal, a dragon-shaped helmet, and clawlike hands.
"Who are you?"
The large figure turned to Spiderman. "Someone who has awakened in a time of crisis. I'm the Steel Dragon, the one who will end the Bad Thunder's dishonorable acts of terrorism."
Spiderman for the first time in his life, sweatdropped. ".... I thought he was called the Blue Thunder." "I believe that people who bring terror and pain don't deserve to be called the by the names they want to go by." The figure turned to the M-66 robot. "But enough talking, looks like the Bum Thunder's robot still operational."
Spiderman didn't bother to correct the Steel Dragon again, as the Steel Dragon was right about the assassin robot.
