That Happosai held great respect for Ranma for standing up to him(unlike his cowardly father) was a very well-kept secret.
It was because these two parts of him conflicted that he did not do this sooner. On one hand, he wanted to get rid of Ranma so he could have his fun. On the other hand, fighting Ranma always tended to be enjoyable and it was ncie to see someone stand up to him.
However, all it took was Ranma keeping him from helping himself to the udnergarments of a new lady in Nerima to push Happosai's dislike of Ranma foreward enoguh to make him choose to get rid of him. He had stolen the spell scroll from the Amazons long ago, but had never seen the need to use it. The spell was intended to "cast away" a person. What this meant, Happosai didn't care. He came to the conclusion that it would get Ranma out of the way(and indeed it would!), and that was enough for him. So he gathered that which was necessary, and, while ranma slept, cast the spell.
By the afternoon, people would be tearing Nerima apart looking for Ranma.
However, the energies of the spell woke Ranma up right away. He found himself tumbling through some weird-looking space.
"Whatever this is, it HAS to be the old freak's fault..."
Ranma tumbled through this strange place for hours, thinking about how to get revenge on Happosai. He had approximately 100 thousand discarded ideas before he found himself dumped onto the floor somewhere. Getting up, he surveyed the area. A large room. Somewhat like an aircraft hangar, it would seem... Then he noticed the emergency sirens blaring and came to the quick conclusion he was in a military base.
Then he saw IT... And IT was...
(author's note: I'm trying to avoid the more common mecha I've seen Ranma get put into from time to time)
