Ranma turned and saw a girl of about his age coming towards him, though he was pretty certain that a lot of guys would have taken note of her. The violet haired girl was wearing jeans and a denim jacket, but there was no need to use flashy clothing to show off this body. Firm breasts bounced under the shiny shirt that she wore, and her legs were certainly long and shapely. Any of his classmates would have certainly had their mouths hanging open if she showed up to go to school with them.
He saw the practiced moves of a fighter though, and had to wonder just what she was there for. "Who are ya?"
"The name's Ayane, and as for why I'm here.... Let's just say that I'm someone who's interested in this situation."
"Eh? What's that mean?"
"Nothing much, to tell the truth. I do want to make certain of one thing though."
"What's that?"
"You are planning on keeping Kasumi, the second one that you got, well, aren't you?" the violet haired girl asked.
"Yeah. That's the general idea."
"Good."
"You worried about her?"
"I'm not terrified of her getting beat up or something like that, if that's what you're asking."
"Oh. Okay."
Stifling a snort, Ayane took a long look over the boy, and wondered if he had an inkling as to the real reason that she was there. Near as she could tell, he didn't have much of a clue, but she could tell her half-sister was sensing something. It didn't take a rocket scientist to notice which one was her sibling when that Kasumi's eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
Not that she'd been lying to the guy when she'd mentioned wanting Kasumi to be kept nicely. To be honest, her hatred of the other girl had basically died down when she'd begun to realize that her sister hadn't known that they were related at all. Having her previously doted upon sibling as a runaway had helped in that regard, though this was the only way that the former 'golden child' return to the village. The reality was that she no longer saw her sister as a symbol of all that she'd been denied, but as one of just how flighty the whims and favor of the village could be.
Though, truthfully, she would prefer to have Kasumi otherwise occupied. But it wasn't that she wanted to deny her sister the ability to come home, or to capitalize on her ability to be around their brother at will. There was a fight going on, and Kasumi just was too generous to allow to be involved in it further. As it was, they couldn't let the crimes that DOATEC had done go unpunished, but her sister was the sort of person who didn't see any good coming from revenge.
So, it was best to allow Kasumi to have a life of her own. She needed to have a 'family' to be with, and if they survived, perhaps Hayate and she could be that for her... maybe. In the mean time, Kasumi herself could enjoy a life with a hopefully caring Master. Her sister's strength might one day be needed, as she was quite a powerful kunoichi, but everyone agreed that she wasn't someone who had the 'killer edge' that many sought.
The other 'Kasumi' set her teeth on edge though. That one represented something that she didn't particularly like, though she didn't have a reason to push at it for the moment, while:
