Fifteen years ago they had married, fulfilling the combined wishes of their parents. Incredibly, they had stayed married for that entire time, and most of it happy. Ranma ran the dojo with Akane’s help, although she did take a few years off in the beginning to go to college and get a business degree so she could run the financial side of the school. Neither one of them wanted it to turn back into what it had become by the time it had been handed over to them, so they were adamant about even the tiniest detail
“C’mon!” Ranma wrapped his arms around his wife from behind, his chin resting on her head. Get dressed, lazybones. If you’re lucky, I might spar with you. I might even let you win.”
Akane’s eyes widened slightly, then quickly narrowed. “Oh, that’s the way it is, eh? You’re going to “let” me win. Well, Mister Saotome, let me tell you something, I’ve just been going easy on you recently. Let’s go. Loser fixes the roof.” Wriggling out of his grasp, she turned and tickle attacked him in just the right places to make him let her go and feel very annoyed that they could not just stay inside. While he was distracted, thinking of other things, Akane bolted out of the bedroom, her light laughter following her.
Ranma grinned. It never failed. He had her just where he wanted her. Casually stretching, he donned a gi of the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts, the clothes that he had worn in high school having been discarded long ago. At a more leisurely pace he strolled toward the dojo, stepping over the prone body of Ryouga, sprawled unconscious on the grass, and waved to Kasumi, who was in the kitchen. She was there doing the necessary cooking that a facility this size would require. Nabiki and her young daughter walked past, heading to the business office. He smiled at young Mariko, then tensed as he heard the words “easy mark” come from one of the mother-daughter team. Hmmmm. Were they referring to him or that pig-man who had just so recently fallen from the sky? He’d have to be careful the next few weeks.
Ranma reached the dojo and looked inside only to find...
