"Yeah, right," said Laharl, turning a page. "I just got this month's copy of Netherworld High School, come back later."
"Huh?" asked the strange girl, looking at the other strange girls and apparently not certain what to make of his reaction.
Laharl grabbed a few potato chips out of the bag and shoveled them into his mouth.
"You're Laharl? The Overlord that's planning on blowing up Earth?" asked some blue-haired girl.
"Yeah. If that third-rate copy doesn't conquer it," said Laharl, turning another page. "I gotta reputation to maintain after all."
"Everyone?" said the strange girl with the double ponytail hairstyle.
Laharl looked up as he felt the power build-up. Some people just HAD to get annoying. And just when he was about to see how Ohtolarix managed to get out of a double-date with Martaa The Whip and Lovia Of The Big Guns.
"What do you mean Usagi and her friends vanished?" asked Umino.
Naru shrugged in her new witches' outfit. "They're not here in the tower. Except Aino-san, who is in Recreation Room 3 with Prince Herb of the Musk Kingdom."
"I was gonna show them the Death Rays next," said Umino, looking down.
"Maybe next time," said Naru. "They probably hadn't finished that homework assignment."
Genma Saotome was ready to eat. Just look at the size of these chickens!
The stupid birds weren't fleeing or anything. Several looked him over, but didn't bother to run or something.
Actually the chocobo were looking at him and determining that he had neither saddle nor treats, and therefore wasn't something to be concerned about.
Genma looked over the nearest huge bird, one that had to weigh at least eight hundred pounds, and licked his lips. He'd just pounce on this one!
HEAD BUTT
Genma picked himself up. Kung fu chickens. Well, then he'd just have to get serious.
leap
Head butt went one chocobo.
Tail thrust went a second chocobo, volleying the funny ball the first one had started.
kick went a third.
Genma uncurled after being played like a soccer ball for ten minutes, staggered a few times, then shook himself. NOW he'd get serious.
There was a little (relatively) one. Genma gathered himself, pounced, and bit into the drumstick.
"KWEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" screamed the little chocobo.
Genma looked up as the sun was blotted out. Slowly he released the grip of his teeth upon the little chocobo. He used the sleeve of his gi to blot up some of the drool, then smiled nicely and started backing away.
PECKPECKPECKPECKPECKPECKPECK!
