Furinkan School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Oh pig-tailed Sensei... [Episode 188068]

by Shritistrang

The two combatants were facing each other. Sweat was pouring down their brows. The girl threw back her flaming red pigtail, while the boy was nervously fingering the handle of his weapon.

Then they both attacked. The girl with a yell of "Charge!" and the boy with a cry of "Have at thee!"

The boy in the purple akama was swinging at his opponent with his bokken, while the red-haired girl was dodging it at attacked with a low sweep kick. The pseudo-Samurai fell down, but did a skillful ground roll to come back to his feet.

He jumped back up and gestured at the girl with his bokken... and at the same time, with the wand that was attached to it's wooden 'blade'.

"EXPELLIARMUS!" he shouted, no, thundered! A crimson red flash came shooting out of the hidden wand and flew at the female fighter.

She just braced herself for the impact, shook it off and flew at her opponent with a flying kick.

Her feet embedded itself in the protective cover underneath the hakama, where a cushioning spell, woven into the kendoist's belt, was lessening the force of her attack. Nevertheless, it threw him backwards, against the wall, where he slumped down to the floor with a groan.

A collective groan came from the audience.

"And that, class..." said the trans-gendered sensei of the Duel Club. "Is the reason why you should never underestimate your opponent! Now, can anyone tell me what Kuno-san did wrong just now?"

"Uh... he combined his wand with his bokken?" Hiroshi took a guess.

"Not quite," Ranma explained. "While it is unusual, there is in no way a law that prohibits the usage of such 'combined wands'. When combining it with the fighting style of Kendo, I would actually very much recommend it to him. No, he did another mistake. Yes, Sayuri?"

"Well... he used Expelliarmus, the disarming spell. But you didn't have any weapon on you, sensei! That's why it didn't work!"

"Exactly!" Ranma nodded. "50 points for House Kino!"

Akane huffed. "I still think Kuno is a bad example! You only made him be your sparring partner because you splashed yourself with cold water..."

Tatewaki Kuno, self-proclaimed Blue Thunder of Furinkan, and a prefect of the House Mizuno, regained his senses.

"That... was an excellent display of skill, beauteous sensei," he spoke up. "Absolutely brilliant! Truly, the cur Saotome couldn't have done it like you. Why, your moves are so fluid and yet so fierce..."

He then winced. "That didn't hurt, you know, but... I still might have sprained something..."

The bell was ringing. "Let's continue after the break," Ranma said. "Kuno, would you please go to the hospital wing? I think Dr. Tofu should take a look at this..."

Kuno grimaced. "It's... it's just a scratch, my beloved... nothing serious..."

Ranma sighed. "Come on, you blockhead! Do I have to carry you?"

When she realized that Kuno still couldn't move, she simply picked him up from the ground and loaded the half-conscious boy upon her back.

"Be careful..." Akane grumbled. "He might take that as an invitation to a date."

Ranma stuck out her tongue at her fiancee/student and left the classroom.

It has been 3 days since Ranma had started his job at Furinkan. He quickly learned about the spells that were most important for his lessons, and today was the first time he could teach the students by himself, as Kimiko had a meeting to attend.

At first, several students had assumed the new sensei would treat his fiancee with favor, but after they all realized how fair - but strict - Ranma was when it came to martial arts, they never talked of it again. They even got used to his strange curse, as they knew that Taro had a similar one.

The DADA (Defense Against the Dark Arts) classroom was on the second floor, and the Hospital Wing on the first floor, he took the elevator, a novelty that would never be seen in Hogwarts, the famous school in Scotland.

While the elevator descended, Ranma looked back at the dizzy student who was resting on her backside with a smirk. Kuno wasn't really a student of her current class, but as Ranma needed a skilled fighter as his own assistant, he chose the slightly delusional boy from Nabiki's class.

As Kuno seemed not to be able to grasp the fact that Ranma's male and female half were the same person, the pig-tailed sensei had to be careful near him, though. As the black-haired, male instructor Ranma Saotome, Kuno would insult him every time he got the chance. He said that he would never allow a Muggle to teach him in the noble ways of fighting.

On the other hand, he never noticed that Ranma's female half was the same person... meaning, a Muggle. Kuno was convinced that his 'pig-tailed goddess' was a skilled witch, but just too modest to show her magical skills alongside her battle skills.

With a sigh, Ranma left the elevator and headed for the Hospital Wing.

Dr. Tofu looked up when Ranma entered. "Ah, Ranma! Another accident with the Kuno boy?"

"Seems more like a sprained ankle," Ranma said. "I'll just leave him here."

"And what about you, Ranma? Any health problems? I don't see you too often down here in the Hospital Wing, you know?" He grinned. "Well, I hope it will stay that way, of course!"

Ranma shook her head. "Nope, healthy as ever! Doc, I gotta go! Break is only that long and I still have a few things to prepare for my students."

"You do that, Ranma. See you later! Shall I send you your 'assistant' once I took care of him?"

"Nah, that's enough for one day. I think I'll wait until tomorrow until I beat him up again."

They both laughed. Before she left, the doctor offered Ranma some water he heated up with his wand, which Ranma gratefully accepted to turn back.

Just as he walked towards the elevator, a cute-looking girl with brown hair ran towards him. She was a student, as he noticed from the female Furinkan uniform: A purple set of robes, complete with skirt.

"Wait! I wanna go up too!"

Ranma waited until the girl was there, then they entered the elevator together.

"Phew! Thank you! I'm already too late for my DADA class..."

"Hey, that's my class! Which house are you in?"

"Um, House Kino."

"Then you're right with me. I'm the DADA instructor... well, only her assistant, but I'm taking over for today."

"But... you look so young! You can't be much older than myself..."

"Well, that's true... but I'm a special case, you could say. I'm not even a wizard, but I'm teaching martial arts."

"Oh, wow! I practice the arts as well. This is so exciting."

"Excuse me, but I didn't see you this week, right?"

"Yes, but that was because I had to take several crash courses over the past few days, as I haven't started the school year from the beginning."

"That's okay, we won't start with anything too difficult. "Say, your face looks kinda familiar... have we met before?"

She shook her head. "No, not that I am aware of... my name is Ukyo. Ukyo Kuonji."

Ranma frowned. "Ukyo Kuonji..."

He smiled. "That's a pretty name!"

Ukyo blushed. Such a good-looking, young sensei, and he even complimented her.

"Th-thank you, sensei..."
