Not that she was stupid enough to believe that they be sitting around the table and calling each other pet names. She sure as hell wasn't a traditional woman, and had plans to attend college after graduating from Furinkan.
Her friends were grinning right back at her as she entered the room, and she didn't have to ask to know that not all their thoughts would be sedate. But that didn't bother her, as she didn't mind a little teasing once in a while. Besides, her situation was of the sort that could only be happier with her friends supporting her. Hell, even as she sat down in her seat, she turned to Kuno, and gave him a big smile and wave, to which he simply sucked in a breath and turned away.
That didn't bother her though. There were other things that she had to consider, as she was aware that making things work would take some thought to plan out. She'd have to convince both fathers not only that she and Ranma had gotten married, but that they had to do so after they had announced their arrangement. It didn't seem to be that much of an issue... at least until she thought about it.
Leaning back in her chair, she realized that there was one major hurdle to what she wanted to do. Telling the fathers straight out wouldn't help if they found out that the marriage was months old, which would be easy enough if they asked for dates at the registry office. What she needed was an ace in the hole, something that she could produce that would allow her to direct them to think how she'd want them to. Unfortunately, the paperwork was legal, and so showing them that would only bring up problems, especially if they started talking where the authorities could hear. No, what she needed was something that would let her create the illusion that they'd just rushed into marriage due to their promise. And that would only happen if they thought that someone had proof that this was what they wanted to happen... which was what she needed to create.
Her smile grew crafty as she realized that what she needed was a 'declaration of intent' from the fathers. How legal it would be wouldn't matter, as she'd only have to register it to get both the fathers and the authorities to think what she wanted them to. In wording it, she'd have to be vague, so that it could be interpreted as needed, but firm in the important parts. Of course, that would be easy enough for someone of her skills, and she was sure that she could manage something like that.
Laughing just a bit, she crossed her arms over her chest and smirked. "This is going to work out better than I thought it would."
Kuno heard what his 'mercenary' classmate had murmured, and let his gaze narrow as he peered at her. Obviously, she'd been plotting something instead of following the classwork, which he could understand. He was certain that she'd been considering how well she'd enthralled the honorable young man who had grown besotted with her warm attentions so much that he couldn't see the chill inside. No doubt she'd be working out ways to pull him further under her control, and so use him to her advantage. That hardened the kendoist's resolve, and he knew that he was going to have to act before the poor boy got himself in too deeply.
As she had turned her own attention back to the instruction being given, Nabiki completely missed the way that Kuno was brooding, and felt comfortable enough to put aside the issues that she had to work out, while:
