Entering her kitchen, Nodoka began preparing dinner. Tonight, she decided, she would make some sushi for herself and the four female bodyguards assigned to protect her 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Although, she felt she didn't need them, the Imperial Household Agency insisted on such protection for their star hostess after one of her more ardent admirers kidnapped her personally from her own home. The incident had ended rather well with Nodoka returning home unharmed after spending a week with the man, the 25-year-old scion of the second most powerful zaibatsu, and finally convincing him she could not give what he wanted.
A soft cough caught Nodoka's attention and she turned to see one of her bodyguards at the doorway to the kitchen.
"Yes, Miyuki-chan?" Nodoka pleasantly asked the young woman who she knew was a former police officer, as was some of her other bodyguards, from their numerous friendly conversations.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your evening, ma--" Miyuki paused on seeing her charge raise a hand. "Um, I mean, No-chan, but Mr. Joker," Miyuki continued, using the codename for her principal's handler, "has a new assignment for you. He says it's very important."
Nodoka raised an eyebrows questioningly. "So soon?"
"Yes, No-chan, Mr. Joker sends his apologies but he says the assignment is very urgent and that you're the only one who can do it."
"I see." Nodoka nodded firmly and then smiled. "Do we have time for dinner?"
Miyuki smiled in return. Nodoka's meals were always something to look forward to. Just ask her partner Natsumi. "Of course, No-chan, Mr. Joker says the client will not arrive until tomorrow."
The next day, Nodoka found out that her client was:
