If Ranma planned on learning and mastering magic, which he did, he'd have to study without being interrupted.
"With all the craziness around here, I'll never get to master any of this stuff." He said to himself.
What was a potential magic user to do? Staying in Nerima was a big no-no. Bu if he left the NWC was sure to go after him.
"If I tell someone that I'm leaving, the news will spread. If I don't, then they'll follow me and eventually find me." A basic doomed if you do, doomed if you don't situation.
Why do you not tell your mother that you are leaving, and ask her for an alibi?
"Huh? Siren? How do you know about my mother?" Ranma was getting really confused.
As I said, I am now one with you. I am a part of you as you are a part of me. You are my master, and I know everything there is to know about you, and your life.
"Okay, I guess that explains things a bit." He said, scratching the back of his head. "Anyway, are you sure I should tell my mother?"
Do you not trust the person that gave you life?
Normally Ranma would instantly start spouting negatives. But right now his mind was clear, and he felt he could trust Siren. "How can I? She's always talking about how manly I have to be. It's as if I'm a factory for making grandchildren!"
Do you honestly believe that your mother does not care for you? She does indeed love you, even if her views of honor are a bit abnormal. Even your stupid excuse for a father loves you.
"Okay Siren. I understand you saying that my mother loves me. But saying that my old man loves me is going way too far! That stupid panda has never used me for anything but his key to retirement!" Ranma obviously didn't like the idea of Genma caring for him.
Deny it as you may, that does not change the truth.
"Whatever Siren, whatever." Ranma seriously needed a change of subject. "So, I should tell my mom that I'm leaving?"
Indeed. If you can convince her of letting you leave, she could drive all of your suitors and rivals of your trail.
"I guess It's worth a shot. I really hope this doesn't blow up in my face." Like it always does?
**********
Ranma would have to talk to his mother, but before that he had to go pack. Therefore Ranma quickly roof-hopped to the Tendo Dojo.
When he got there he quickly went to his room through the window and instantly started packing the very few belongings that he had.
'I hope no one hears or sees me.' He thought as he once again bound through the window and onto the rooftops.
It took him only a short while to travel to his mother's house. As he came up to the door, he knocked and waited for his mother to answer the door.
'So damn ironic. After not seeing my mother for over 10 years, I don't even live with her. And all because of that stupid engagement.'
Ranma was taken out of his thoughts as he heard the door open. What greeted him was the surprised face of his mother.
"Oh hello son! What are you doing here? Come on in!" She then stepped to the side to let him to enter.
"You must visit more often son. Your mother gets lonely sometimes." Said Nodoka as she smiled at her son. "I bet you're hungry. Let me make you some lunch."
"Actually mom, I came to just talk. Could you just sit down for this?" Ranma was obviously nervous. And the questioning look Nodoka gave him didn't make him feel any more comfortable.
"Mom, I know that you won't like this. But I have to leave Nerima for a while." Ranma slowly said.
"Leaving?! Right now? Why must you leave? I just found you after so long and you're leaving me again?!" Nodoka was clearly panicking. The idea of not seeing her son after finding him after so long was crushing.
"Mom please listen to me! I have a very good reason for this! Please hear me out!" Ranma tried desperately to make his mother stop rambling. He was lucky that it worked. A miracle indeed.
"Please explain yourself son. Why do you want to leave?" Nodoka said after taking along breath. She had tears in her eyes as she waited for her son to explain himself.
Ranma sat there for a few minutes thinking about what to say to his mother. Trying to figure out a way to tell her why was leaving. After finally finding an answer to his own question, he started talking.
"Mom, today I went though a huge change in my life. This change is something that I can't really work with here. I need time for myself. I clear my head and train a while. The craziness of Nerima won't help one bit."
"But why must you leave? Couldn't you stay here?" Nodoka was at the verge of tears.
"I'm really sorry mom. But this is not something that anyone can help me with. I need to myself. And if I did stay here the Nerima Wrecking Crew would find me and ruin everything." Ranma really didn't like seeing his mother in tears. In fact, he hated the mere idea of his mother crying. Especially because of him.
Nodoka just sat there in silence for a few minutes. Of course she wanted what was best for her son. At first she thought that him marrying and settling down was the best idea, but she quickly pushed that idea aside.
After all, she and Genma name Wild Horse for a reason. She then realized that no matter what, Ranma could not live a normal life. He probably didn't even like the idea himself. After many minutes of getting her bearings, she spoke.
"Very well, you may leave. But you have to promise me that you will be back to visit." Nodoka's tears were now freely running down here cheeks.
Ranma's instinctive action was to hug his mother. "Don't worry mom, I'll be back in a month or two. This is only a training trip after all." He let his mother freely cry on his shoulder.
"Really? You promise?" Nodoka asked, still crying.
"Yeah, really. When I get back you'll be the first person to know." He then let go of his mother. "By the way, mom could you, you know. Not tell the Nerima wackos where I'm going? I'm kinda trying to lose them."
"Of course son. My lips are sealed." Answered Nodoka, smiling as she wiped her tears away and. "I'll make you a lunch all right? It's the least I could do." She then stood up and headed to the kitchen.
After receiving his lunch and saying goodbye once more, Ranma went out the door. Ranma then took to the roofs yet again. Thinking over the days events. To think that one book changed his life so much in one day.
So, where are we heading?
"I don't know Siren, I really don't know." Answered the newly magic user in training.
