"I need to know, what is it that caused you to come to me? You could have gone to your fool of a father or Cologne. You came to me."
"Pops might have more tricks up his sleeve, but I've learned nearly everything I can get from him." Ranma said, he knew that his old man was a taskmaster, but he didn't need the stupidity of what Genma was (in)famous for, no, he NEEDED some serious training from someone better than him. "The Ghoul's got more experience than me, but you..." Ranma trailed off, trying to figure out how to phrase what he needed to say "You're probably the best person to teach me." He finished after a few minutes.
Happosai nodded, though he was shocked as hell that Ranma would actually swallow his pride and ask the perverted Grandmaster for training. "Tell me, my boy, what was it that he said to you?" He asked and listened as Ranma relayed the events that happened in the abandoned lot. Narrowing his eyes, Happosai could have sworn he had heard the name Toguro from somewhere, and that Dark Tournament, it sounded familiar, but he couldn't place it, not yet anyway. "He'll come and kill everyone?" Happosai asked after Ranma was done. Seeing the martial artist nod his head, Happosai cursed. He wasn't too concerned about Soun or Genma, they could take of themselves if it was needed, no, he was more worried about Soun's daughters. Hey, he may be perverted and sometimes evil, but he still liked the Tendo girls. 'All those silky darlings gone!' Happosai cried internally. He blinked as Ranma tapped him on the head to get his attention. "Very well..." Happosai said and stretched. "There is one thing I wonder, my boy..." The old pervert trailed off.
"What?"
"Just, what is the real reason that you're doing this?"
"What the heck are you talking about? I already told you..!" Ranma glared as the old pervert held up a hand to silence him. What the hell was wrong with him? Ranma knew that he had told the pervert the truth, so, what was the problem then?
"I don't doubt that you want to protect them, but, honestly, Ranma... I can see it in your eyes." Happosai smirked as the boy's eyes widened slightly. "You don't just want to protect everyone, you want this... To prove that you're the best, don't you?" Oh, he knew the feeling. He felt it a lot when he was younger, and just knew that the boy was feeling it. He knew that the boy wouldn't be as far as he was right now if it hadn't been for him and Cologne-chan pushing him.
"Fine..." Ranma muttered before standing up and slipping out the door. "Tomorrow. You better not disappoint me, old letch."

"Ranma! Wake up!" Akane yelled as she burst into the guest room. Honestly, what was he doing, sleeping so late? It was almost time for breakfast. "Huh?" She blinked at the empty room. Taking a quick look around, she noticed that the Saotome's back-packs were still in the room. So, that meant that they were at least still here, somewhat. "Grr... Probably out sparring again." She muttered, surprised that it was so quiet around. That was the whole reason she came into the room this morning. She hadn't heard anyone outside and Kasumi called for breakfast, so she had assumed that Ranma had been sleeping in. She shrugged it off as a possible running spar and went downstairs.
The fact that Genma was downstairs eating breakfast and Ranma was nowhere to be seen surprised the hell out of her.
