However, not many would have expected a little girl with pointed ears to be leading a troop of 'aliens' onto the Earth's surface like a simple hiking expedition.
Of course, the little princess hadn't quite expected what she was seeing either. She might have taken the time to note the scenery, but she hadn't exactly been in the most safe of situations all too recently. Given that there was a boy who was literally flying nearby, it wasn't too strange to think that she had a reason to be concerned.
Of course, it wasn't like the boy was trying to sneak up for an attack. His body language simply didn't show any sort of hostility, and he was a bit young for a killer. Not that she would have missed him if he'd been creeping around, as she would have sensed him long before he could get into range.
After all, she was an Abh, and, like all of her race, she had a sensory organ that gave her much more of an idea of what was around her than any surface born person, or 'grounder', would have had in her place. Being a member of the Abliarsec Clan, she had even more of a reason to not to slack of in that regard, since it would be an embarrassment to be a part of the imperial line and be that dense.
That wasn't to say that she had anything particularly against the grounders. As far as she was concerned, there wasn't any real reason to be disgusted by any of them, given that they were human beings. It was like being revolted by a part of one's self, and since her kind had come about from genetic engineering, it wasn't like she should be dismissive of her race's 'cousins'. To tell the truth, she was a bit young to real understand all of that, but she understood it on enough of a level to be aware that there didn't need to be any sort of automatic distrust between her and any of the 'non-Abh'.
But she knew that there was plenty of a reason to not like the guys who had been after her. Her guards had been able to protect her, but there was plenty of reasons for her to be worried about the ones who'd been attacking them. Those people had been aiming to kill her, and since she didn't particularly wish to die, it was only natural that she wanted to get away from them. Running away wasn't an appealing concept, but pulling away and denying those killers the chance to complete their 'task' was good enough.
Now she and those with her had to try to figure out exactly where they were. As most Abh lived on ships, stations, and other space based environments, being on a planet's surface was unusual enough. Combined with the fact that there was a boy who was managing to fly, which was a trick that even the Abh hadn't managed to engineer into a person, it was clear that they were not really in their element. However, giving up also wasn't in their list of choices, so they tried to ready themselves for whatever was coming.
Given that they weren't all that massive in numbers, it was clear that they weren't in a good position, while:
