"No, and I could understand why you would worry that it would be. But the truth is that they seem to be really concerned about it," her grandfather told her.
"But what could be so important, or so dangerous that it'd rate that sort of care?"
"You mean, you want to know why they want to get the best?"
"Well, you don't call on highly respected shrines for help if you're going through the motions. You call some hack job who mumbles a few sutras, and waves his hands a bit. Unless you're just rich and want to waste money."
He nodded, but sighed as well. "I understand what you mean, but I don't think that it's fake."
"Oh?"
"It feels serious. And they are taking some very real precautions. Guards, shields, armored cars and everything. We won't even know where we're going to work on the ceremony until we get there. And we might not know where that is."
"Isn't that a bit overboard? I mean, I could understand if it's some sort of new technology, but for something that would need a shrine priest's touch...." the raven haired girl trailed off, looking a bit confused.
"Perhaps, but they seem to have some very real concerns. In fact, they even asked to make certain that there wouldn't be an eclipse while the shipment is in the city."
"What for?"
"It could mean something important would happen."
"What could happen in that sort of situation?"
The old shrine priest just tilted his head slightly and gave his granddaughter a bland look, seeming to wait for something.
He didn't have to wait long. "Okay, in a world where there are monsters attacking people, it's entirely possible that something would pop up."
"Exactly. With the Sailor Senshi fighting things here, and those western heroes having their own troubles, dismissing something like this might not be the best move."
"Now, that I can understand."
"I'm happy about that. I always knew that you were a sensible miko. Though...."
"What?"
"Those Sailor Senshi. They're so young. It seems to be such a shame to put such pretty girls into such danger. It'd be something that a parent would worry about."
Rei's answering smile was weak and forced, as she tried not to wince at her grandfather's words, while:
