Since hero-ing would be terribly unlikely from most of the cast of Eva, we see an unlikely hero arise in the form of:

Ryoki Kajii, the last hope for mankind. (We are so doomed.)
Kasumi Tendo (if she was 19 in 1989 or so, in 2015?) who works at NERV cafeteria
Nabiki Tendo, agent of SEELE?
the child of someone else from another series
