Jet Bradely was outside the United States hunting for Kevin Flynn. He was hoping that Flynn would have some idea in how to proceed with the entire digitizing of a human being. After the little battle with fCon, he was a little wary of going back inside the computer, although he did miss Mercury. He stopped near a house that had a motorcycle in front of it and a fairly decent sized yard. He took a deep breath and walked up to the house and knocked on the door. The door hesitantly opened and Jet saw Kevin Flynn on the other side.
Opening the door, Flynn smiled and waved Jet inside. "Jet? Come in! Come in! It's been a while since I've seen you. My, how you have grown."
Entering the house, Jet nodded at Flynn. Flynn closed the door and locked it.
"I'm sorry to bother you Flynn, but I just had an experience similar to yours with fCon trying to invade ENCOM," Jet said. "I'm stumped on how things are going to proceed. MA3A was able to digitize me successfully and kept me in the computer until the problem with fCon was dealt with. Dad and I are at a loss on what to do if fCon tries again. Even though Dad thinks your a bit flighty, he still respects you and figures you might have some idea on what to do."
Flynn grinned a bit about how Alan saw him and then frowned as he turned his mind to the problem with fCon. He tilted his head back and recalled seeing something that would throw logic out the window. He then looked at Jet and took a deep breath.
"Jet, I moved here to pretty much escape being bothered with the entire digitizing process. However, I have seen things, or I should say people, that can help if things go wrong once more."
"People? How can these people help?"
"It's what they can do," Flynn said with a grin. "As to the digitizing technology, even though Alan and Walter worked on it and maybe perfected it for ENCOM, I perfected it for my own use."
"Huh? How? Why?" Jet asked a bit bewildered.
"Self-defense. I was the top programmer for ENCOM, before being forced out by Dillinger, so I had the skills to understand the technology that was used. When I was made CEO of ENCOM, I gathered copies of the digitizing laser and came up with a program that could digitize human and used my own money to buy the materials to create a digitizing laser. As to this house, who would look for me in an area with no obvious links to the Internet," Flynn replied. "As to fCon, it is controlled by a Mister Crown, or I should say Edward Dillinger. Mister Crown is a name he took to escape being noticed as Dillinger. I guess he's trying to take control of ENCOM back."
Before Jet could say anything more, a beeping came from his pocket. He pulled out a cell-phone and answered it.
"Hello? Dad? What's going on? I see. Any ideas? I'm talking to him right now. Maybe. He mentioned something about certain people that might be able to help. No. Apparently, he has his own laser and perfected it by himself."
Jet held the phone away from his ear and grimaced slightly, while Flynn was doing his best to suppress his laughter. He gently took the phone from Jet and shook his head.
"Hi Alan. Yes, I'm being annoying again. I've got an idea on how to handle this. Sorry, but I have to turn off the phone, since I don't want to be traced."
Flynn closed the phone and removed the battery from it.
"It looks like fCon is starting another attempt," Jet said.
"True. Well, it's time to recruit certain people..."
