"Ah, well, I'm Genma Saotome," said the older man. "Is he not available or-"
"Looks like it's what we figured," said the youth.
Akane stiffened and immediately exchanged looks with her sisters. Kasumi looked stunned but Nabiki nodded.
"Won't you come in?" asked Nabiki. "We may have something to discuss after all."
"Well, yes," said Genma, letting Ranma fall in behind him as they followed the three girls into a sitting room.
"So you had some sort of agreement with our father," guessed Nabiki. "That's why you raided the Yakuza?"
"You were one of those girls in the cages?" asked Ranma.
"Yes, all three of us were," said Nabiki.
"Oh," said Genma.
"Yeah, we found this house empty, and we tracked rumors down, ended up there," said Ranma. "I'm Ranma Saotome. Sorry about the trouble."
"No," said Nabiki. "WE owe YOU for getting us out of there."
"Well, then," said Genma, interrupting before Ranma could say something stupid. "That brings us to the agreement between your father and myself."
"Yeah, what WAS that about?" asked Ranma. "You been real quiet on that."
"The agreement between Soun and myself was that the families would be joined," said Genma. If his friend had been here, this would have been so simple. Trying to explain it to three girls though, and his son who had gotten very good at sneaking away and other ninjitsu techniques since they'd found that hidden village.
"Ah, then this works out well," said Kasumi, moving to kneel before Ranma. "I am Kasumi Tendo. I swear to follow you and to serve well."
"Ha-whah?" said Ranma.
"KASUMI?!" asked Akane.
"Good idea," said Nabiki, kneeling next to Kasumi. "I am Nabiki Tendo, my skills are at your disposal."
"Hu-WHAH?" asked Ranma.
"That's what I say," said Akane, agreeing with Ranma.
"Ahhhhhhh," said Nabiki, blinking several times. "Ooooh yeah. That was nice."
"Can someone explain any of this to me?" asked Ranma hopefully.
"Among the enchantments placed upon us was a compulsion to obey and please a Master," explained Nabiki. "Since we owe you our lives and freedom, it seems fitting to swear to be your ninja."
"Yes," said Kasumi, looking at Ranma but not at his face. "That might be fun."
"B-b-but," stuttered Akane.
"Akane, we've been dealing with that need for awhile now," said Nabiki. "How long can we hold out?"
"I know, and I know he saved us but he might be a PERVERT!" said Akane.
"WHA?" asked Ranma.
"Well, maybe a little," said Kasumi.
"I can deal with that," said Nabiki.
"HA-whah?" asked Akane.
Genma scratched his head. He'd rehearsed this scene in his head a few times. It NEVER went like this.
