While Ranma and Rei may have sensed something was off about this so-called apprentice healer, even their worthy senses couldn't fully pierce through to seeing what lay beneath the surface.
Usagi the bumbling apprentice healer was such an effective disguise simply because even Usagi herself thought it was the truth. As far as she knew she had always been slightly clumsy and according to others inept. Little did even she know that when the situation called for it she would be shed like a piece of clothing and in her place would be the deadliest assassin still alive (having killed all those deadlier than her). The 'assassin with the speed of a rabbit' hidden under a name that meant rabbit but was slow, clumsy, and inept... truly the ultimate disguise.
Luckily for Ranma and Rei...
