The Kuno family was wealthy.. everyone knew this.. yet no one had ever wonderred why Tatewaki attended a 'commoners' school instead of a prestigious one or being taught by a private tutor. Kodachi after all went to such a school..
As for his public demeanor.. well it had all started as a shield against his sister's 'tender mercies' and his father's obsessions. Unfortunately, it had become such a habit to show that side of himself to the world that it was almost an instinct at this time.
At times like now, however, when no one could see him he allowed his normal facade to relax and the inner shame to come out.
As he neared the school he sighed once, firmed his drooping shoulders, and changes his stride as the charade is set to begin again.
Reaching the school gates, his gaze locked on in horror to the latest plan by his father to humiliate those he cared for. 'I'm sorry my friends.. but the act must go on..' he thought sadly as he witnessed the outline of his father waiting nearby as if hoping for him to slip out of the act.
"Zounds! What is this..? Has my delusional father called forth the very demons of those foreign lands..? I, the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High shall free these hallowed grounds from thy vile taint!" he shouted out to all in hearing range. Then, with another silent apology to his friend, he began his attack upon one of the girls, whom he considered a friend but was forced to act like he loved, while shouting out, "Die foul fiends!"
"EEP! Stop, Kuno! It's me you idiot!" the pig-tailed girl whailed as she ran away from his slashes.
With each attack another piece of Kuno's hidden soul fractured. His only consolation was that at least that disgusting monstrosity she had been forced to wear was slowly becoming torn apart.. just a little longer and he would be able to safely claim recognition of 'his love' and stop this nonsense..
'Just keep the act up for a little longer.. it can't last forever..' The funny thing was how he had that thought memorized.. he should having thought it every day for years.
