Blood 1/2 - Diva: Chiropteran Plans [Episode 193227]

by X Dragon

While Ranma was contemplating the fact that he had picked up yet another fiancée, another meeting involving many more chiropterans was taking place…

“So, the girl is bringing her creator here in the next two or three days then?” Solomon asked his brother as the other chiropteran pressed the button for the bottom floor, followed by several others in order to reach the building's second level basement that didn’t officially exist.

Amshel nodded before he leaned back to stroke his short beard. “Yes,” the older creature in both age and appearance replied. “It’s curious though, I didn’t think there were any other natural chiropterans besides Diva and her sister. I would have thought something about them would have turned up over the years.”

The younger chiropteran shrugged. “Who knows, maybe he’s been sleeping for the past few hundred years. Besides, with all the ‘mice’ we’ve let run loose, it would be easy for us to mistake the work of another chevalier for just some test subject run amok.”

“True,” Amshel agreed. “How is the Delta 67 project proceeding?”

“Well enough.” Solomon frowned and looked down at the floor for a moment as he thought how to break the bad news though. “But it seems Haji has resurfaced and made contact with Saya. They encountered two of the older test subjects over the past few days and killed them.”

Any other conversation was cut short when the elevator came to a stop on the first floor and let out a small chime before opening its doors. A man dressed in a fancy blue shirt with long sleeves and a head draped in golden blonde hair stepped inside. After turning back towards the door, he put the fingers of one hand to his forehead and let out an exasperated sigh. “Oh what a absolutely dreadful flight over to this boorish city I’ve had.”

Solomon frowned at the other man. “Shut up Nathan,” the young man said before re-entering the elevator code. “This situation requires our full attention. If everything works, it’ll speed up our plans by a matter of years, if not decades.”

“I don’t even see why we’re doing this so soon, Diva hasn’t even awoken yet,” the newcomer whined. “You called me all the way over from America only to sit around and wait for months.”

“We’ll be awakening Diva early,” Amshel told him. “Everything is already in place. We were simply waiting for everyone to gather.”

This bit of news caused Nathan to flinch before quickly turning towards Amshel. “Are you nuts? Do you remember what Diva was like the last time you used that procedure? She’ll kill us all! We don’t even know if this boy will agree to our demands.”

“Whether he decides to go along with our objectives is irrelevant,” Amshel replied. “That girl said she could convince her master to come here. If he decides to back out, Diva can always just force him, and the female would be ours to use for experimentation… or perhaps, reproduction.”

Now there was a thought. Since that Nabiki girl had survived being injected with Diva’s blood, Amshel had run some tests on some samples of her DNA collected from the floor he and Solomon restrained her on. Apparently, she and her creator were so genetically removed from Diva and Saya that the effect of each sister’s blood being fatal to the other and her creations didn’t apply. It also meant that a female created by this other chiropteran could be used to breed by a male from Diva’s brood.

“So uh, about the person who’s going to be waking Diva up,” Nathan reminded to two of them.

“I was thinking we could use Carl. He’ll be arriving from Vietnam later today,” Amshel told him.

Solomon nodded. “Yes, he has been attracting a bit too much attention with that phantom act as of late.” They needed to reel him in, and if Diva wasn’t too cranky when she was awoken, Carl might just be able to survive the whole thing.
