Oh, he wasn't too sure that he should be calling it 'Shundo', what with the times that he'd heard of this sort of move being called 'Shunpo'. Not that such distinctions were the important thing to him. Instead, he focused on what he could do with the technique, given that it would allow him to open a whole new bag of tricks, and create new twists on his old stuff. Of course, the distinction of a name did make it important that the title was kept right, and he did recognize the differences between things like 'kendo' and 'kenpo'. But the difference here wasn't going to make him want to avoid the technique, as it gave him too much too work with now.
Getting up, he began to work through what exactly he would need to do for this to work. That had him slowly going through the moves, as he used the activity to work out the meaning behind the written words. All too many times, the author of a technique would try to go with some sort of screwball 'poetic' style that was supposed to give it some 'mystical' significance, or would put it in words that were all too drawn out. Fortunately, whoever had written this had done so with practicality in mind, which would help it out.
Not that it was going to be easy though. Lowering the scroll, he took a moment to relax and comprehend just what this would take from him. Oddly enough, the fact that he had gotten slaves was going to help him in that regard, with just Makoto's cooking being enough assistance to make it worth having done. And since the other girls would be able to help out, and take care of the chores that his father might have stuck him with, he had the time to put into getting the technique down pat.
He was going to need all the time that he could get. The tournament wasn't all that far away, and he knew that it would be best to make certain that he had this ace up his sleeve for the fight. He didn't think that there would be a lot of strong challengers there, but he also wasn't about to take any chances. Having something to fall back on was always a good idea in his mind, though he hoped to not have things go that far, since, no matter how much fun it could be, he didn't want to show his hand if he didn't have to.
Though, if this technique was an indication of how things were going to be in the tournament, he was going to look forward to it.
Grinning slightly to himself, he began to imagine the possibility of some good fights coming, while:
