Ayane stopped, her head lifting back up as she sniffed the air. "Kappei-kun?"
The wolf-girl smiled as she leapt to a tree branch and sniffed the air again.
Koga stopped as he went through the forest, listening.
Had there been a sound that was out of place?
Ginta and Hakkaku likewise stopped, but seemed puzzled. Koga held out a hand to keep them quiet as he tried to analyze the oddness.
Whatever the odd thing was, it wasn't repeated.
Maybe it was something to do with Kagome and that stupid (if useful) consort she'd chosen. If that boy hadn't had the ability to find jewel shards, he'd have smashed the fool flat by now.
Well, that and Kagome would probably hate him.
Pfeh, girls - who could figure them?
Sesshomaru strode forward, apparently not giving any consideration to his sister.
A little half-sister, who was a bit of an embarassment at time. What an odd thing to have. Still, in the manner of big brothers everywhere, he was a little protective of her and a little hard on her.
Fortunately that human seemed to be able to look out for her. She was half-human, so that wasn't completely unforeseeable. Kagome seemed to spend much of her time either being happy, which oddly pleased him, or frustrated - which amused him.
She had also gotten stronger. Which DID please him. Conclusion - Kappei was good for his sister.
Now if he'd just put a muzzle on her or something.
Kikyo stopped in the woods, seeming to consider something briefly.
"What have you done now?" she asked the night.
Something had gone terribly wrong. Perhaps it was that she was dead, a spirit raised and given form by an ogre's magic ritual. Perhaps it was something else. She knew something had changed the past.
It felt incomplete and transient. She couldn't tell what it was that made it feel so, but there it was. So she frowned, trying to isolate the part of her past that felt different.
Perhaps it was something minor though, as she'd always been:
