Mystique and Nodoka looked at the naked girl who was supposedly their granddaughter floating in there. She looked like she was around fourteen years old already even if some of her physical attributes were off for her age (Ranma-chan and Mutsumi had impressive busts and this trait was passed down to their daughter). To Nodoka, she was simply beautiful and even Mystique couldn't help but feel something in her heart at her sight.
Mystique was familiar with high technology and searched for the release command. Mutant containment wasn't an unknow to her for her either, she had been intimate with it during her years in the american Defense departement. She quickly found the right sequence to enter in the computer.
The liquid in the artificial womb was flushed out and the tube's door opened. Nodoka stepped inside and took the respirator off her face "How can she be so old already !?"
Mystique looked at some screens and her look turned to disgust "Sinister used accelerated growth techniques and mnemonic teaching to educate her while she sleeps. It seems he's very eager to see her operational as soon as possible..."
Nodoka was sitting in the tank, holding the still asleep girl in her arms and stroking her long blue hair "To deprive my... our grandchild of her childhood just like this... Who does he think he is !?"
Mystique joined her near the tank to help her carry the girl "God's gift to mutants and evolution, I think. We must hurry and get out of this place" She winced in pain, her knee wasn't fully healed yet. At Nodoka's distressed look, she rallied her strength "Let's go"
As they were nearing the door, it opened and Mr. Sinister himself entered the room "Now, ladies, I know my hospitality is not one of the best but you could make an effort to appreciate it" He looked at the unconscious girl half-standing between Mystique and Nodoka and frowned "You shouldn't have taken her out of the tank. She's not ready"
Mystique glared at the mad geneticist "We'll take our chances, thank you very much" She winked at Nodoka and the japanese woman released her granddaughter's side and jumped at Sinister, her fingers surrounded by unknown energy. Sadly, her hands were stopped by an invisible force field. Arcs of lightning crackled furiously between them but Sinister's defenses held.
"I am saddened by your ingratitude, Saotome-san. I granted you the greatest gift I can offer and secured a place for you in the future of the human race. And this is how you repay me ?" He made a small wave of his hand and Nodoka was flung violently into a wall by an invisible force. Metal tentacles came out of the wall and tied her up. Another telekinetic blast followed and Mystique ended up in the same position "Did you think you could escape so easily ?"
"Who... Where ?" A small voice asked "What ?"
Sinister turned to the source of the voice and saw that Ranma and Mutsumi's daughter had woken up. Blood red eyes blinked at him and the two women bound to the walls. He inwardly swore. Her mental conditioning hadn't begun yet, he had wanted to see what her powers were before that "Nothing, my dear. Come with me, you must go back to sleep for a little longer..."
She backed down, obviously afraid. She was positively shaking "No... no... no... no..."
"You monster, leave her alone !" Nodoka was no longer stunned and anger was clouding her face "Leave my granddaughter out of your sick schemes !"
Sinister smirked "Really, Saotome-san, think about it. Without my 'sick schemes', the little princess here would never have been born in the first place. Your son would be trapped in an unhappy marriage with a mere human, severely unstable psychologically if I remember right, and his genetic potential would have gone to waste" His smirk turned into a nasty smile "My work is only a more scientific approach of your arranged marriages. We want the same thing, offspring superior to their parents !"
"No !" Nodoka shook her head in denial "I'm not like you !"
"This coming from a woman ready to force her son to commit suicide if he did not uphold your standards of manliness... Excuse me but I find your hypocrisy laughable" He laughed a little when Mystique loudly gasped and Nodoka paled "Your mind is an open book for a telepath like me... You knew in your heart your husband would put your son through hell to make him stronger. I dare say you approved it !"
"Never..." Nodoka was crying now and her voice was barely above a whisper in volume "You're twisting my thoughts. I love my son the way he is..."
"Be that as it may, i have more pressing matters to attend to..." He turned back to the product of his science "Now, child, it is time to go to bed..."
"NOOOOO ! It hurts !!!" Ranma's daughter couldn't hold it back anymore. The pain had been steadily growing since her awakening and it was past the breaking point.
Two giant feathered wings sprouted from her back, one as black as the darkest night and the other as white as pure snow. A black reptilian tail had grown and sept back and forth behind her and she was wearing clothing made from pure shadow.
Sinister raised an eyebrow. He clearly hadn't predicted such results in his test subject.
The girl screamed and her white wing morphed into a beautiful and serene-looking elfish woman. The latter gestured at sinister and he was struck by a pillar of ice that came from beneath him, getting past his personal force field. Sinister was sent flying by the impact.
The black wing transformed too and became a grim reaper-like figure who tokk a bow out of nowhere and fired a burst of converging plasma bolts at Sinister. His aim was true and all struck the insane eugenist in a fiery explosion. Before collapsing, his last words were "Seems duality is a recurrent family theme..."
Mystique shifted her form to slip out of her bonds and went to free Nodoka. The two women approached cautiously the distressed girl "Are you all right ? What's your name ?"
The white woman spoke in a demure and gentle voice "Ondine..." The black shadow only grunted "Necron..." Finally the girl said one word "Dizzy..." and fell unconscious again, her wings, tail and clothing disappearing at the same time.
Nodoka blinked in confusion "Is that her name or what she was feeling ?"
Mystique shrugged and moved to pick her granddaughter up "Let's call her that for now... We must go before that man wakes up or one of his servants come to see what the noise was about... Help me carrying her"
