Ranma was trying to wrap his head around a few things. This whole mess started with Ryoga saying something about being cursed again and how it was his fault. In Ranma's mind, that could only mean one thing: he'd gone back to Jusenkyo. But he couldn't see how that was possible, Ryoga couldn't find the end of his own nose; much less, make it to China. If anything, it had to have been dumb luck. Figures he'd go and blow it, and that was the part that really didn't make sense.
I mean, the guy was a pig before. So almost anything else had to be an improvement, right? Depends on who you ask, apparently and, in Ryoga's case, the answer was, "no" since he was now a she... sound familiar? But his girl form was a stark contrast to Ranma's own. Minus the changes in height, gender, and hair color, Ranma still looked like himself.
Ryoga looked nothing like himself in girl form. In fact, that was the real irony because, while looked nothing like himself, he looked an awful lot like someone else. Kalia. From her short white hair, to her smooth caramel colored complexion and grey eyes. The resemblance was downright uncanny. Ryoga was, however, a bit taller than the gynoid, being almost, but not quite, equal to Nabiki in height. Likewise, her body was better developed, sporting a shapely athletic figure.
It took a moment for Ranma to get over the shock. The pigtailed boy pointed tentatively and asked, "R-Ryoga...? Is it you?"
Drenched head to toe, her clothes sagging, she folder her arms and shifted her weight to one foot. "Gee, I wonder?" she replied saucily, even sounding like the girl whose body he now 'inhabited'. Not bothering with anything further, she reached for the hem of her short and pulled, tugging it up and over her head.
Ranma's eyes flew wide in panic. Waving his arms frantically he cried, "Whadda ya think you're doin'?! You can't do that in pub-!" The rest died on Ranma's lips as he caught sight of the dark muscle shirt Ryoga wore underneath, noting how the damp fabric clung to her chest and the generous amount of cleavage it displayed.
The girl favored her half brother a cool stare, well aware of where his eyes were. "Did you get a good look?" she asked before turning to wring her shirt.
"Hey! I ain't no pervert!" Ranma fired back. "Besides, you're the one givin' everybody a free show, yanking your shirt off in public like that."
"You're one to talk. At least I have the decency to wear something underneath," Ryoga returned smoothly, giving her shirt one last twist for good measure, then shook out the remaining moisture.
Ranma's mouth flew open incredulously. Why that no good little- How dare she even suggest... Uh-uh. No way he was letting that slide, even if they shared the same mother... on occasion. "It ain't like I do it on purpose! It's 'cuz of Kuno and the old freak! You know they're always grabbin' at me! Like you could do better," he finished with a huff.
Slinging her shirt over her shoulder, her other hand on her hip, she smirked and replied, "That's 'cuz everybody loves Ranma. Besides, if Kuno ever tried that with me, he wouldn't see another sunrise. As for the old goat..."
Ranma folded his arms, tapping his finger impatiently. "Yeah...?"
Ryoga thought a moment then shrugged. "I dunno, maybe Shishi Hokoudan his ass."
"Heh! Like you'd get the chance." Ranma snorted, changing from a snort to a snicker when his now half sister, blew a raspberry in lieu of a comeback since he knew she didn't have one.
The two of them sat on the edge of the fountain, Ryoga hunched over with her arms on her lap. Ranma sat Indian style. Obviously he had questions, like wanting to know how he had gotten back and, more importantly, which spring had he fallen into this time. The one thing he was sure of, was that it couldn't have been the Spring of Drowned Girl. Could it?
Ryoga was busy cursing his luck, yet again. Oh sure, he no longer had P-chan to worry about, but turning into a girl wasn't much better, in his opinion (no offense to any female readers). Now instead of worrying about being pursued by wild animals or turned into pork cutlet, he had to worry about the animals here. And Kuno and Happi weren't the only ones. Oh yes, and ever present concern of fainting at the sight of his new body. She supposed it wasn't all bad though. At least she could communicate now and, if need be, should could still fight.
Then there was his other problem. Ryoga never had much of an ego, but he did have his pride. Being a pig had left him feeling more than a little inadequate; that no one would ever accept him. Least of all, the girl he was in love with. The pig was gone, but his new curse had done nothing to better his chances. *sigh*.
Ranma looked on, watching as the mask of depression neatly settled into place. It was easy to tell when Ryoga was in a funk, and he could guess what about. Ranma couldn't blame him. After all, he knew better than anyone what he was going through. Now that he thought about it, he could give him a few words of encouragement, real 'big brother' type stuff. Why, he was practically swelling with pride at the thought of it. No one could say Ranma Saotome wasn't a man of character.
No sooner had he opened his mouth to speak, Ryoga casually swept her arm out to the side, in a backhand motion, and knocked him in. Seconds later, a buxom redhead broke the surface, breasts bouncing as she leapt to her feet and hollered her trademark phrase, "Whadja do that for?!"
Ryoga closed her eyes primly, and rose from her seat, turning to face the other girl with a smug expression. "Now we're even."
For the second time that evening, Ranma's mouth opened and closed, sputtering incoherently as Ryoga started to leave her behind. "Oh-ho that's it," she said at last, "she is goin' down!" Then almost as suddenly she blushed to herself and rescinded it. "But uh, not like that. Nope! Nu-uh!" she said primly as she climbed out of the fountain and followed after her. Not now, anyway....
