"So this is Earth, huh? Doesn't look too different from home."
"Environmentally, it's actually almost the same," Madame Fabulous stated as she guided the courier ship in a controlled descent towards the Tokyo metropolitan area. While many races living in the solar systems close to Yiziba had set up a permanent patrol around their solar system to prevent any excursions by its natives -- or, at least, act as a sort of "early-warning network" to alert other races of possible forays by "They-Who-Must-Never-Be-Named!" -- there was next to no power in the known Universe which would stop the Fabulous Quartet from going to where they wanted to go.
The Yoke leaned on the back of the chair to stare at the vast city growing larger on the view screen ahead of them. "Nice place. Sure is pretty clean. I've always heard some of the big cities on this planet are pretty darned messy."
"They don't live with the type of automatic environmental maintenance systems the Circle of Thought created when the Show began in earnest two sagas ago," Madame Fabulous stated as she programmed the ship's sensor systems to home in on the unique bio-signatures of Rake and Infinity. "Still, from what my research -- backed up by the Academician -- on this particular tribe on Earth tells me, cleanliness is considered a great virtue here. As long as we acknowledge the local traditions, we should be fine."
"We won't be here for long, anyway," Blaze noted. "Just long enough to convince both Rake and Infinity to come home."
The Unseen Lady giggled. "We certainly have ways to do that, don't we?"
Knowing laughter escaped the others. While in a "traditional" format, the Quartet were usually composed of two males and two females, this was a unique time when all four of them were females. And yes, they were all quite attractive women at that, Madame Fabulous mused as she flicked on the ship's heat shields to protect them from atmospheric friction. And while they would have had no problems seeking out potential mates among the over-abundance of males currently alive on Yiziba, that most of them were more interested in engaging in fight scene after fight scene with each other . . .!
For many Yizibajohei females, being practically ignored by such strong studs got to them one way or another!
Fortunately, the Great Crystal of Power provided a handy solution.
And given that, before he became Rake, the Terran male named Moroboshi Ataru had actually dreamed of possessing many female mates . . .!
"There it is," Euphoria said as she pointed ahead. "Earth!"
"It's like home!" Muoti noted as another courier ship, which had managed to escape the pathetic "dragnet" the neighbouring races of sames and norms set up around them in the same way the Quartet's ship had, began to approach Tokyo from the southeast, it presently soaring over the Pacific Ocean towards Japan's capital city. "Except for all that air pollution."
"Obviously they haven't developed strong-enough environmental safeguards to protect what was given to them," the Matron mused as she continued to work on a knit sweater. "If they're not too careful, they'll end up destroying their planet's bio-sphere in the long term."
"It was obviously the Crystal's choice to allow the power of the Chosen One to be blessed to a native of this world," Courtesan noted as Euphoria flicked on the ship's heat shields for atmospheric entry. "And a wise choice, indeed. Even if the majority of the natives are norms, this planet's attracted all sorts of attention from many races. The last children of Krypton and ancient Mars live here. There's a Juraian colony here. The Thanagarians sent two of their peace officers here. The Rannians adopted a native of this world as one of their own. Darkseid is interested in this world . . . "
"As are so many others, dear," the Matron said. Given her skills at social interaction, it was understandable that Courtesan had an eidetic memory. That had been the primary reason she had become the Preacher's aide-de-camp. And while gossip on Yiziba had hinted at a more personal and intimate relationship between the two, the others in the group knew that Courtesan slept alone when she resided at the Preacher's cathedral. If she had ever did get close to anyone in her current incarnation, it would be news to all her friends.
A sensor alarm then sounded off. "What's that?" Muoti asked.
"There's another courier here," Euphoria announced after a quick look at the controls. "The Quartet's here, too!"
The others exchanged looks. "Not surprising," the Matron mused.
The others nodded.
"The Preacher's Choir is here, too?!" the Yoke asked.
"It's them, alright," Madame Fabulous warned. "Not surprising that the Preacher took interest in this event, too."
"We can't let those hussies get to Rake first, boss-lady!" Blaze warned.
The others grimly nodded as . . .
