Ryoga could hardly believe his luck. Usually, that was a bad thing. He was always getting himself lost (which he was) and was always late to arrive (ditto) because of it. In fact, today was the day he was supposed to receive his first pokegirl from Professor Tofu. Except he was a day late despite having left two days early; meaning, he had missed his chance. Again.
Needless to say, he'd been devastated, his hopes of building a harem crushed. That is, until fate interviened... better known to everyone else as Yomi. She'd been on her way to Sakaki's house, along with Kagura and Tomo, when they had run into him. Ryoga had noticed Tomo right away, she was a brat. Literally. Though to all, but the most discerning eye, she looked entirely human.
Ryoga flicked open his pokedex (which looked like a Nintendo DS) and pointed it at her, getting a reading almost immediately.
*ping*
Brat: the genki pokegirl
Type: normal
Nature: hyperactive, prankish
Libido: varies
Brats are among the more common species of Pokegirl, though they are rarely used. As their name implies, brats are difficult to deal with, even for experienced Tamers. Due to their hyperactive nature, they often have more time and energy than they know what to do with and tend to bore quickly. Because of this, raising a brat can be time consuming and often stressful.
"Screw you! You piece of shit!" Tomo said, giving the device a middle finger.
"Man, talk about fittin' the shoe." she heard Kagura say.
"Couldn't agree more." Yomi added.
Tomo turned, finding both girls with their arms folded leveling stares at her as though they were bored. Taken aback that her own friends could say such things about someone sweet and innocent as she was, she croaked an incredulous, "Wh.. wha..?" Naturally, neither one of them was buying it. Truth be told, Tomo's pokedex entry had been putting it mildly.
"Well fine. Be that way." she pouted. Then turning to Ryoga and effecting her best cute girl smile, she clasped her hands next to her cheek and asked, "You don't believe all that stuff, do you?" Rather than answer, he tucked his pokedex into his backpocket and wisely chose to remain silent; causing Tomo to facefault.
"So" Yomi began, "you're a Tamer."
"Pretty much." Ryoga shrugged.
"Whadda ya mean, "pretty much"? Are ya or aren't cha?" Kagura wanted to know.
"Kinda." then before either of them could interject, he went on. "Yes, I'm a Tamer. No, I don't I don't have a pokegirl. Yet." he admitted.
"I see." Yomi said. However, it was obvious to all of them that she was thinking out loud. Off to the side, Kagura blinked. She knew the taller girl was working something out in her head, though what that something was eluded her. At least, for the moment. Meanwhile, Yomi continued to mull things over. At one point mumbling, "Should I or shouldn't I?" which is when it hit her.
"Whoa! Wait a sec!" Kagura cried suddenly. "You're not seriously suggesting...?"
The sun glinted off Yomi's glasses as she smirked, "Oh, but I am."
"No way!" Kagura objected incredulously. "Yomi...!"
Yomi's expression and tone became serious. "It'll kill two birds with one stone. Besides, I've got a good feeling about this."
"A feeling?" Kagura wondered. "You mean, like woman's intuition?"
"I guess you could call it that."
"Oh please. She says the same thing when she sees something new on the frozen food aisle." Tomo jibbed, failing to notice the crazed look on Yomi's face or the way her hands began to twitch. "Especially the dessert section!" she added with a snicker. Which, of course, was one word too many. Ryoga went wide eyed as Yomi cried, "Double chop!!" and flattened her. As Tomo lay, twitching on the ground, Yomi dusted her hands and stared in an almost imperial manner.
"Saw that one coming." Kagura remarked.
"Yeah, but she didn't." Ryoga said in awe.
"Oh don't worry about her." Yomi assured them. "She's got a head like a rock." Beside her, Kagura nodded sagely in agreement.
Yomi then ressumed where she'd left off. "Anyway, there's someone I'd like you to meet. If you're interested."
Ryoga arched an eyebrow, "Who?"
Yomi smiled. "Follow me."
Two tries and fifteen minutes later, she took his hand and guided him there. Mumbling all the way, she couldn't help wondering if he was somehow related to Osaka.
