Pokemanga Daioh: Aftershocks [Episode 197739]

by Nyteflite

This wasn't going to be easy. Granted, she'd only known the girl for three years. During that time, she rarely spoke and, when she did, it was never a word more than was necessary. Other than that, she usually sat at her desk, staring out the window, seemingly detached from everyone and everthing else around her. It was no wonder most students preceived her aloofness as "cool" and "tough".

On top of that, she seemed naturally gifted at everything. She finished third, behind Chiyo and Yomi respectively, in academics and excelled in sports. Hell, she could even sing... beautifully!

Minamo had heard her once and could hardly believe the voice she heard belonged to the same girl. She was usually so quiet, so reserved. It'd been a real eye opener and she suspected there might be even more to the girl that what little they'd seen in those rare moments when Sakaki let her guard down. With any luck, she'd be able to help with that.

In fact, you could say it was the reason for tonight's visit. In addition to being an official League representative, she was something of a couselor, though not in any official compacity. In most cases, she was one or the other. This was the first time in her career she'd be acting as both.

The thing of it was, the girls usually came to her when they had a problem. At some point, Minamo supposed she'd simply settled into the role and had even come to regard them as hers, in a surrogate manner.

Minamo was sure she'd have questions concerning the boy despite her attempt to ease her mind, but that would have to wait. Right now, they had other things to discuss.

She parked near the curb and got out. Her attire consisted of a dark turtleneck, grey slacks, and a smart looking sport coat. Her ID was clipped to her breastpocket. After checking her hair in the sideview mirror, she straightened her jacket and took a breath.

"Okay. Here we go," she said to herself.

Minamo approached the door, her pumps clacking against the pave as she went.

Sakaki hadn't known how tired she was... until she got home.

She and Yomi had taken a cab, there was no way she would've made it back on foot. She just wasn't up to it. Sakaki nodded in and out along the way. Yomi had helped her to the door and up the stairs to her room, doubling back to pay the fee. By the time she'd made it back upstairs, Sakaki had fallen asleep in the middle of the floor.

Yomi had been about to help her up when she noticed something about the room, in a word: plushies. They were everywhere, most of them cats, including a stuffed Necoconeco. More than that, there were posters of them, cute ones in vivid hues and pastels. Even her bedsheets were decorated with them.

In all the times she'd been to Sakaki's house, Yomi had never once been to her room. It was a stark contrast to the image everyone had built up of her. She didn't know about anyone else, but she had imagined Sakaki's room would look more like guy's: with stock car posters, anime, maybe even a Bo Flex somewhere in the corner.

Who'd have thought the coolest kid at school had a thing for cute animals and plushies? It made Yomi wonder what else they didn't know about her.

So is that why she's always so quiet? 'Cuz she doesn't want anyone to know?

"Mm.. Mayaa..." she heard Sakaki mumble and there, curled by her side, was the kit himself. "Finally... my own cat..."

Had it been Tomo, it would've been funny; not to mention, blackmail material. In Sakaki's case, it was cute. It almost seemed a shame to disturb her, but it couldn't be helped.

Luckily, Kaorin wasn't around. Had she seen Yomi stripping Sakaki, she would've had a a royal hissy. Big time.

Afterward, Yomi had helped her into a large white T that reached mid thigh. Appropriately, it was a Hello Kitty. Then it was into bed, where she'd been sleeping soundly... for the past hour and a half.

Yomi had been reading downstairs when the doorbell rang. For a moment, she wondered who it could be. Then she remembered. She answered the door, finding Nyamo on the the other side.

"Ms. Kurosawa, you're here."

Minamo returned the greeting in kind, smiling warmly, "Yomi."

"I would've come sooner, but things took longer than expected," she explained as she came in.

"Is everthing alright?"

"It's fine. Just following up on some things," Nyamo assured her. Then, glancing upward, she asked, "How is she?"

"Sleeping. She's pretty worn out."

The older woman sighed, ruefully, "I need you to wake her."

"But-"

"I know. But I'm afraid it can't wait. I have to speak with her."

Yomi pursed her lips for a moment before giving in.

"Okay."

Minamo had a seat in the den while she waited, mentally preparing what she was going to say and for any questions Sakaki might have. This wasn't going to be easy. Typically, when she spoke with someone about sex it was to encourage abstinence, or to practice safe sex if they felt couldn't wait. She never thought she'd be pushing someone into it but, under the circumstances, neither of them had a choice.

The sound of bare feet padding down the stairs told her the time had come. Sakaki still appeared half sleep, but fully awoke upon seeing Nyamo. The Skit Tit had slipped a pair of cut offs, beneath her shirt.

"Ms. Kurosawa," she said simply.

"Hello, Sakaki. Please seat down," she instructed. "Yomi could you... ?"

The other girl was way ahead of her. "Actually, I'd better be getting home. I already called my parents to let them know I'll be late. So I'm just gonna go ahead and go."

Then, to Sakaki, "See you tomorrow."

"Thank you, Yomi."

After she'd gone, and the two of them had settled, Nyamo began.
