Eternian Wreaking Crew: Conversations in the Wood [Episode 198771]

by KAITON

"Paugh! Disgusting creature!" Evil-Lynn wiped a shred of the T'Wowser Snake's innards off her shoulder pad and wiped her hand on the thick leaf of a low-lying shrub to her side. "Stinks just like its master."

Given the open area she found herself in this clearly wasn't Eternia. Then again it wasn't the VOID and it certainly wasn't Despondos...so where in the nine hells was she? Sky's unfamiliar, the air smells cleaner but with the underlying stench of sulfur. An industrial area? Evil-Lynn materialized her staff and washed the remains of the beast's juices from her clothing and skin. Have to find out where I am but don't want to bring unwanted attention to myself; a disguise is in order.

Purple energy wrapped around her body from the jewel atop her rod and a midnight cloak rustled softly around her shoulders and head. Her spiked headdress disappeared, revealing snow-white hair cropped short, before it too was hidden beneath the cloth.

Clearly this isn't civilization. There's smoke rising in the distance, a settlement? She cast a lingering glance at the direction where the sulfurous smell blew strongest. That direction positively reeks of evil, but perhaps not the evil I know - this could be HORDE territory for all I know. Best to keep to the light side for now. She pulled the hood down over her black-lined eyes and headed away from the ruptured remains of Beast Man's creature towards the sickeningly pastel colors of the dense forest.

Her powers were weak in this realm, wherever it was, and aside from materialization and a small degree of conjuration she wasn't sure she could perform any magic of consequence, certainly not to the degree she needed to get back to Eternia. She felt the breeze and knew instinctively that this was not anywhere she recognized from her trips with the Council of Evil. That idiot Skeletor's probably pissing himself now that I'm gone. Fool, Faker was right - Keldor's deranged leadership cost the Council victory more than once. Deep down in the further recesses of her mind a small voice reminded her that Keldor/Skeletor wasn't a fool.

"Ho there! Who are you? What business do you have in the Whispering Wood?" A curious blue-skinned creature in a green cap and britches appeared from behind a candy-colored shrub and pointed a bow and arrow in her direction.

"I am merely a traveler seeking shelter from pursuers." Which was true in a manner of speaking...

"Did the Horde see you enter the wood?"

So the Horde does control this world! Interesting, good thing I didn't head towards the stench of evil or I might've run afoul of Hordak's crew! "No, friend, the Horde is many paces behind and lost my trail two days ago."

The Twiggett frowned. "Our leader is the only one who can allow you to enter camp, only she left awhile ago to investigate a strange disturbance."

"You fool!" A fat Twiggett burst from the next bush and hit the first with a stick. "You're talking too much again!"

"Stop hittin' me, Sprague! I'm just tellin' the truth! Adora's the only one who can grant sanctuary!"

"Well I know that and you know that but that doesn't mean the whole bleedin' forest needs ta know!" The fat one known as Sprague shook a meaty fist at his tall and thin companion.

Enough of this drivel! Evil-Lynn's eyes were blazing purple before she calmed down. "So I need to get this Adora's permission to enter the wood?"

"Yeah." The reply came from both creatures.

Evil-Lynn really didn't need to run into the Horde, especially with no leverage in case of violent negotiations, so she needed sanctuary within the forest. This meant she needed to find the one called Adora and ask for protection.

"Well where did she go?"
