Day by Night: Head Westward: A new Breed of Vampires, eh? [Episode 199218]

“I should have known something like this would happen,” Nabiki berated herself, after Alucard and Seras had left the Japanese couple's apartment.

Ranma shot his companion an inquisitive look. “Expected something like what?”

“Like this,” replied Nabiki, gesticulating with her arms. “somebody finding out about us and coming to investigate.” She sighed in frustration and sank down in her chair, until she was lying half-way on the kitchen table.

Ranma moved to embrace the mercenary girl, then hesitated, not sure how Nabiki would react to that. While he and Nabiki were a lot closer than he had ever been with any of his fiancées in Nerima, even Akane, he still didn't know what was acceptable for Nabiki, as far as physical contact outside her 'treatment' went. Especially considering that Nabiki had used to relieve him of every single yen he owned, and quite often even more than he owned, when he had said something she didn't find particularly amusing, never mind touching her.

In the end Ranma settled for putting his right hand on Nabiki's shoulder comfortingly. “Come on, Nabiki. You're not perfect.”

Nabiki shot her Master a flat look. “Gee, thanks a lot.”

Ranma's face scrunched up in frustration. “You know that's not what I meant!” He racked his brain, looking for a way to word this that wouldn't come out as an insult. “What I meant is, nobody is perfect, Nabiki, not even you. There's no reason to beat yourself up over one mistake. And besides, it didn't go all that bad, now did it?”

Nabiki smiled softly at her Master, touched despite herself by his attempts at comforting her. “I know, Master.” Then her expression quickly turned frustrated again. “But still, what if they had come here to kill us? I hadn't thought of any way for us to escape! We could be dead now, and just because I failed to take something like this into consideration!”

Ranma softly grabbed Nabiki's chin and turned her head, forcing her to look him in the eyes. “If something like that happens, then I'm also still here, Nabiki. I wouldn't have let them hurt you. I would have found away for us to escape. I don't lose. Not when it counts. Or you have already forgotten that?” He finished with a cocky smirk.

Nabiki quickly jerked her head free and turned it to the side. The closeness was making her uncomfortable, and she didn't want Ranma to see the blush that was painting her cheeks red. She was totally unaccustomed to such tenderness and didn't know how to properly respond, which was making her uneasy.

“No, I haven't forgotten that,” she mumbled quietly.

“And now you should stop beating yourself up over this and think of a plan in case something like this happens again.”

The mercenary girl nodded. “You're right, Master.”

Ranma smirked. “Of course I'm right. I'm always right!” He ignored Nabiki's 'Yeah, right' stare as he straightened up again, a thoughtful look crossing his face.

“What is it, Master?”

“I'm just wondering why we didn't ask Seras and that other guy for help with our, uh, problem.”

“Because I don't trust them,” Nabiki stated bluntly.

“Why not? They seemed nice enough to me, at least Seras did.”

Nabiki rolled her eyes. While it was true that Ranma had become at lot more cautious since their turning, he still tended to trust people too easily in Nabiki's opinion. Everybody who didn't shout death-threats as a ways of greeting was now trustworthy in Ranma's eyes, as opposed to just everybody, even if they greeted the pigtailed boy with “Prepare to die!”

“Master, they are operatives of Hellsing, the institution whose sole purpose it is to destroy monsters of any kind. That includes vampires.”

Ranma considered this for a moment. “Then why didn't they attack us?”

Nabiki shrugged. “Who knows? Maybe they have other, more important matters to take care of at the moment, and decided they'd let us be for now. Or maybe they wanted to get an impression of us and see how strong we are, before they move to eliminate us. There could be lots of reasons. Just because they didn't outright attack us today, doesn't mean they won't do so in the future.”

Ranma raised his arms placatingly. “Okay, okay! I get it! So, what are we going to do now?”

Nabiki stood up and approached the pigtailed vampire with a smoky look in her eyes, her hips swaying seductively. “Now I think it's time I reminded you just whose 'urges' you have to take care of.” As soon as she was within reach, she started drawing circles on Ranma's chest, sending shivers up and down her Master's spine.

“Na- Nabiki?!” Ranma squeaked.

The mercenary girl put her arms around her Master's neck, and pressed her body against his, making sure he could feel every single on of her generous curves. “Don't think I missed the way Blondie looked at you.” She smirked as she felt Ranma shiver and a certain part of his anatomy begin to stiffen.

Ranma gulped nervously, but put his arms around Nabiki, hugging her to him more tightly. “I- I don't know what you're talking about.”

“Oh come on, Master,” Nabiki said, “I don't believe you. There's no way you could have missed Blondie's adoring looks. In fact, I'm quite sure you enjoyed the attention.”

Ranma raised one eyebrow, a habit he had picked up from his companion. “Oh? Is that so?” He asked, his lips transforming into a faint smile. He had, in fact, been quite aware of the way Seras had looked at him, and, yes, had even enjoyed it to some degree, but he didn't know how Nabiki could have noticed that, as she had joined them much later, and Seras had been all business from then on. But then again, it wouldn't be unusual if Nabiki had secretly observed them for some time before she had joined them.

“Uh huh,” Nabiki mumbled. “Not that I mind all that much, as long as it doesn't go beyond looking.”

Ranma smirked. He had managed to get himself back together by now – it always took him some time to regain his equilibrium whenever Nabiki put on her seductive charm – and was starting to enjoy their little banter. This was something he had never had a chance to do in his life, teasing and flirting with a girl, and, like any male, he found that he rather enjoyed it.

“Only looking, huh? I'll have to think about that.”

Nabiki raised her head, narrowing the distance between her lips and her Master's. “Will you now?”

Ranma tilted his head forward, only a few millimetres of air now separating their two pairs of lips. “Uh huh.”

Nabiki finally closed the gap completely, crushing her mouth to Ranma's in a fierce kiss. Then she opened her mouth, letting her Master's tongue invade it to engage in a heated wrestling match with her own, and moaned passionately.

A few minutes later, Nabiki finally broke the passionate lip-lock, panting heavily, her face flushed, and begged, “Please, take me to bed, Master!”

Ranma was panting equally heavily. “All- all right,” he mumbled, before he picked Nabiki up and carried her to his bedroom.

“And you are absolutely sure these two vampires are in no way a threat?” Integra asked Alucard after he had finished his report.

The two pet vampires of the Hellsing organisation had returned to the Hellsing mansion twenty minutes ago, and were now once again in Lady Integral's office.

“Of course I am,” Alucard stated, “They were telling us the truth about the reasons for their stay in London, there is no doubt about it.”

“Hmm,” Integra considered this, “Anything else you can tell me about them?”

Alucard smirked. “Apparently, they are not true Nosferatus.”

The blonde head of the Hellsing organisation narrowed her eyes and leaned forward, her glasses gleaming ominously in the low light of her office. “Explain.”

“When I examined them a little more thoroughly, I noticed that their auras bear almost no resemblence to a Nosferatu's. They're actually closer in nature to the aura of the cheap vampire trash that have been cropping up lately, but also not. It is almost like they are still more human than monster. I have never encountered anything like it in my long life. I find it quite ... fascinating.”

Integra pursed her lips. “A new breed of vampires then? Interesting ...” She fell quiet then, pondering this for several moments, before she spoke up again. “Anything else you can tell us?”

The No Life King's smile became amused. “You might want to ask the police girl that question.”

“Ma- Master?!” squeaked Seras as she suddenly became the centre of attention.

“Go on, police girl. Why don't you tell them what you think of our two new 'friends'. Especially that Ranma fellow.”

“I- I have no idea what you're talking about, Master.”

“Alucard,” Integra interrupted the two vampires. “Get to the point.”

“As you wish, Master.” His smile grew almost gleeful as he shifted his gaze towards the uncomfortable blonde Draculina. “It seems like our little police girl has taken a liking to that Ranma fellow.”

Integra leaned back in her chair, and raised one eyebrow, a faint smile caressing her lips. “Oh? You don't say.”

“What?! I have not!” Seras denied vehemently. “I thought he was nice at first, but that was before he started acting like a chauvinistic, arrogant jerk!”

“If that is what you say,” Integra let the matter drop, her tone becoming serious again. As fun as it was to tease Seras, they had more important things to do. “What do you suggest I do about them?”

“Why are you asking me? You're the master, I am merely your loyal servant,” replied Alucard.

Integra nodded. “Very well. Walter?”

The Hellsing retainer cleared his throat. “I would suggest we leave them be for now. There are other, more important matters that require our attention.”

“The FREAK vampires,” Integra concluded. “Yes, I thought the same. Have we found out where they're coming from, yet?”

Walter shook his head. “I'm afraid not, Lady Integra. But we're doing our best to find out.”

“Very well. That is all then.”

Three hours after the debriefing in Integra's office had taken place, SS-Sturmbannführer Montana Max sat in his chair on the command bridge of his personal Zeppelin, reading through a report submitted to him by a 'special agent'.

“So, these newcomers are a 'new breed of vampires'. Interesting...” He murmured to himself. “And they're looking for help? My, that's just glorious.”

He finished reading the report, then called out, “Schrödinger!”

A few seconds later, a young boy, dressed in a Hitler Youth uniform, and with cat ears on his head appeared. “Yes, Major?”

“Have you heard about the two new vampires that have shown up in London?”

Schrödinger nodded his head. “Yes, I have, Major.”

Montana Max smiled. “I have a special assignment for you.”

Schrödinger left, once the SS-Sturmbannführer had explained what he had in mind, and the air was filled with the Major's maniacal laughter.
