He'd been told that in these other dimensions the cartoon characters were real, but he hadn't really believed until he saw HER lying in that coffin.
It was HER, just like she was in the manga. Ranma would never admit it, but he was somewhat of an otaku of her particular series and her in particular. He had dreams where SHE was a fiancee. Then maybe he wouldn't mind doing some of THAT.
He almost rushed immediately to get out of the coffin and then remembered that bit about the programming. If he enslaved her, he'd never forgive himself. But he couldn't just leave her there, cause then she'd be this jerk's slave.
He agonized for several seconds before finding a readout that showed she'd only just recently been put in.
"All right," Ranma said. "This will be so cool meeting her!"
And with that he cracked her out of the coffin.
She came awake almost immediately, and tried to stand weakly.
"Who? What?" she asked, looking up. She somewhat wondered why the air seemed to sparkle around her rescuer's face, but didn't think on that too far.
"Don't worry," Ranma said. "I got you outta there, now let's get everybody else..."
