Getting in was the easy part. The Being was kind enough to send Ranma into that Moboroshi guy's headquarters and unlike Ryōga, Ranma actually had a working sense of direction, so finding the pods with the kidnapped girls was easy enough.
Ranma blinked as he took in the scene. It was like some sort of freakish museum for otaku. At least thirty of the pods filled the expanse in rows of five or six each. Ranma had to remind himself of what the Being had said. Ataru Moboroshi had travelled between universes and had been taking the females from what, up until now, he had thought of as nothing more than TV shows. Shaking his head to clear his mind, he continued to look around the space. (It was too big to call a room) That's when he saw it. The glowing monitor that was quite obviously a control panel. Taking his time so as not to trip any alarms, Ranma walked between the rows of pods. Though the transparent lids, he could see the girls inside them with their eyes closed. It almost made it seem as if they were sleeping. He stopped for a moment to look at two of the pods and his heart wrenched at the sight. One of them was because he was a fan of that particular series and the girl inside was his favorite character. The other was the girl who meant the most in his life.
"Akane...."
He looked away, hating the sight of Akane locked up like some freaks blow-up doll and with renewed determination, he continued towards the control panel. For all of the times he'd called her 'ucute,' 'tomboy,' and the like, he swore to himself to make things up to her. As cheesey as it seemed, Kuno was right in calling her a fierce tigress. No one deserved to be in that situation. Finally, he reached the far wall and broke free of his musings to look at the screen. Most of the words on the screen meant little to nothing to the pig-tailed martial artist. There was a progress bar showing how far along the programming was. More like brainwashin' He thought sourly. Then there was the list of the captives with numbers beside each name. He assumed this to be a code of some sort. Last was the menu he'd been wanting to see most. PROGRAMMING OPTIONS It read. He selected it and almost jumped for joy. That was exactly the option he needed and he wasted no time in selecting ABORT PROGRAM INSTALLATION.
Now you may be wondering why Ranma didn't just smash the damned thing. The reson was simple: Ranma isn't stupid. True, he may not be too bright, but then, with his past, you couldn't really blame him for that. Recalling the two numbers he'd seen, he punched them in along with the command "OPEN POD." Two hisses, and the selected pods opened, Akane and the other girl stumbling out and blinking as if they were just awakened from a good night's sleep.
Klaxons blared suddenly, making it sound like the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D. Cursing, Ranma leapt over three rows of pods and before the two utterly confused girls.
"Run," was the only word he said to them before turning heel and taking his own advice. The trio turned down corridor after corridor until they felt that they'd put enough distance between themselves and the scene of the 'crime.' Turning to face the two winded girls, Ranma looked them over. Akane was there, and for once, she wasn't sending a death-glare his way. The other's outfit was unmistakable because,
