Chained World Ninja: Read All About It? [Episode 200253]

by Kestral

Uhm," Ranma said after a few minutes. "Ah. Pops? You got them special manuevers on a scroll or something?"

"Why, as a matter of fact," said Genma. "Yes, but not here. You need special equipment for a few of them."

"Oh, how disappointing," said Ranma, oblivious to Tenten falling over behind him.

"So you'll have to make do with this," said Genma, holding out a scroll.

Ranma took it and swallowed nervously before slowly unrolling it.

Rock Lee most studiously focussed his attention on the ground.

"This is -" said Ranma.

"Yes," said Genma. "Truly frightening. When it was obvious this was going to happen, I spent some time researching how such things are done in this world."

Tenten came up, making warding gestures. She just KNEW this was not going to turn out at all well.

"This is really necessary?" asked Ranma.

"Oh, yes," said Genma, trying to look worldly and wise. It didn't work but he WAS giving it his best shot.

Tenten silently debated whether ignorance was bliss or should she look?

"As that informant indicated," said Genma, "by forming a personal link with your slavegirl - she may receive one of the weapons of the Saotome Clan."

"Ah, those," said Might Guy, rubbing his jaw. "I've heard of those. The old Saotome Clan were weaponsmiths."

"Indeed," said Genma, actually beginning to manage the 'worldly and wise' look as he sat on a treestump in a half-lotus position. "Every generation had its great smiths, sometimes with the members of a single generation competing to see who would be that era's Mastersmith. Unfortunately, as we are from a different world - neither of us can actually create such things."

"Sad," said Might Guy, not sure about the whole 'different world' thing. "The Emperor's head bodyguard is said to have a Saotome Sword."

"Yes," said Genma, nodding. "I've heard that too. The 'Shining Dawn' blade."

Tenten sighed. "Ranma. Let me see that."

"Eh?" asked Ranma, suddenly looking less the part of a martial artist and more a scared little boy.

Tenten took the scroll from Ranma and looked it over. Her gaze was flat and humorless as she regarded Genma Saotome a moment later. "You've got to be kidding."

"What?" asked Genma.

Tenten let out a deep breath. "No."

"No?" asked Ranma.

"No," repeated Tenten. "Handcuffs and chains are not normally considered necessary."

"They're not?" asked Genma.

"Live chickens are not normally required," continued Tenten.

"I was kinda wondering about that," admitted Ranma.

"And this," said Tenten, trying not to blush too hard as she held up the scroll and pointed to one diagram, "is especially 'NO'."

"I don't want to know," said Rock Lee, not looking. Doing one hand pushups was a much better use of time.

Tenten went back to another log where she proceeded to an embarassed sulk.
