Monday morning came signaling to all the people in the neighborhood that the weekend was completely and totally over. Into this bright and cheerful, well maybe not so cheerful for those who partied too hard Sunday night, morning Ranma and Michiru exited from the Saotome apartment and headed off to school. Ranma was walking on the railing with Michiru respectfully trailing a steep behind. They knew their way to the school because Michiru had suggested that the two of them familiarize themselves with the route on Sunday.
After about fifteen minutes of walking, master and slave reached the gates of Furinkan high school. Noticing a large gathering of students in the front yard of the school, Ranma motioned for Michiru to slow down a bit. He then jumped off of the railing and landed in front of Michiru. Not wanting to cause trouble before he even started at the school, Ranma approached the group of boys and called out, "Excuse me but me and my slave are new transfers to this school. Would someone please tell me what is going on and if we may pass?"
A voice called out from behind the mass of boys, "Make way for my noble person so that I might enlighten this new person to our hallowed halls of learning!" The crowd slowly parted allowing a teenager in a hakama carrying a bokken walk forward. The strangely dressed boy took one look at Ranma and then proudly said, "I am Tatewaki Kuno, Upper classman of Furinkan high school and also known as the Blue Thunder! We are gathered here to fight for the affections of the fine maiden Akane Tendo!"
Both Michiru and Ranma sweat-dropped at Kuno's statement and thought to themselves, 'which head are these fools using?' Ranma then politely coughed and said, "I hope that this whole thing works out for you upper classman. Look, could you please let me and my slave pass through? I want to make sure that Mich here gets to her classes without any hassles. Also, I personally don't want to be late for my own classes which will happen if I don't have enough time to make sure that everything is straitened out properly."
Kuno thought about what Ranma had just said to him. A part of the slightly-delusional swordsman was angered that the new kid didn't seem interested in winning the fair Akane's heart. However Kuno calmed himself when he remembered that this well mannered young boy was new and thus had not a chance to lay eyes on the fair Akane. Taking a quick glance at the boy's slave Kuno could see why Ranma seemed so nervous. While not nearly as beautiful as Akane, this 'Mich' was an attractive woman. Obviously this Ranma person was used to ignorant fools chasing after his mediocre slave girl and was worried about a repeat.
Raising his head Kuno called out, "Let the newcomer and his slave girl pass. And then my good fellows, let us prepare ourselves to do battle with our beloved Akane Tendo!" Ranma and Michiru then made their way through the crowd trying not to let their true opinions of the morons show through. It was becoming apparent to the two that Furinkan wouldn't be the peaceful school that they were hoping for.
