Superlina: Discovery [Episode 20108]

by Disruptor

Shortly after the events on Mipross, Lina and Naga were walking through the forest. Lina stopped and listened.

"Naga there's a bunch of bandits nearby. I think about fifty. I can hear them talking about ambushing us."

"They picked the wrong person to ambush when they picked Naga and her junior business partner. OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!"

Lina said nothing as she looked around.

"There's ten to the left of us with crossbows. To the right there is ten more. A group of five is moving behind each of them and trying come at us from behind. That leaves twenty directly in front of us. They also have two mages with them."

Naga stopped her laughing for a second. "Uhm Lina? How can you tell that? As a mage, I can sense how many are out there, but I can't tell what they are carrying like that."

Lina looked oddly at her companion. "I can see them. Can't you?"

"We're in the middle of a forest. There is no way you can see them."

Lina replied, "Nevermind. They're about ready to attack."

Naga said nothing as she prepared. Soon a group of twenty bandits broke through the foliage directly in front of them. The leader, weilding a bastard sword, stepped forward and grinned evilly.

"So, we have finally caught up to Lin Inverse and the Goldfish feces. Now, we shall deal with the two of you permanently. Any last words?"

Lina glared at the man's sword. To everyone's suprise, the sword started glowing red and melted. The bandit leader quickly dropped the blade.

"OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! That's hot!" the leader yelled. "Mages, you were supposed to warn me when either of them cast magic!"

A blue robe mage stepped forward and replied, "There was no magic involved in what just happened."

The bandit leader shook his head. "Nevermind. FIRE!!"

To Lina everything appeared in slow motion. She spotted the forty incomming quarrels and reacted without thinking about it. She sped up and grabbed each crossbow bolt out of the air and returned to where she was standing.

Holding up the bolts, Lina smirked. "Drop something?"

All the bandits paled at the sudden display of speed.

"She's not human", a bunch of bandits said.

Lina looked down at the bolts and wondered aloud, "How in the world did I do that?"

While Lina was distracted by her own powers, a large bandit tried his luck and swung a battle-axe at Lina.

Naga yelled, "Lina!! Watch out!!"

It was a moment to late and the axe hit Lina square on the head. The axe shattered when it hit her, causing all those present to gasp in awe. The bandits, realizing that they were in way over their heads, fled in sheer terror.

"So Lina, you've been holding back on me. I demand you tell me how you got so strong."

Lina cleched her fist over the crossbow quarrels and watched as they shattered. "I have no idea on how I'm doing this. Maybe Luna knows."

Without thinking about it, Lina lifted into the air and flew off.

"Hey, wait for me. RAYWING."

'I'm not using Levitation or Raywing to do this. How?'

After a long trip of Lina remaining quiet and Naga trying to find out how Lina became so powerful, Zefillia came into sight.

"Now, maybe I can get some answers," Lina said.

Walking up to the inn where her siste worked, Lina grasped the door handle and pulled. Instead of opening the door, she ripped the door off its hinges.

A waitress came out of the inn and yelled, "Lina! You'll be paying for that door!"

Lina ignored her sister and mumbled, "I'm strong, but this is getting ridiculous. Axes shattering upon hitting me. Me grabbing forty crossbow bolts out of the air as they are being fired."

Throwing the door upwards, Lina demanded, "What is going on?!"

Luna watched as the door went higher and higher and started to speed up. Soon the door was ablaze from the friction. After a moment, the blazing door hit the barrier surrounding the lands and broke apart.

"Lina, I think you had better come with me. Dont' worry, I'll pay for the door. Since your friend knows, she might as well come along. Gice me a second. I have to tell my employer that something's come up."

Lina mutely nodded and waited for Luna. After seeing that display of strenght, Naga remained quiet. Even as delusional as she was, she could tell that Lina had no idea what was going on.

Luna came out of the inn and said, "Follow me."

The three girls walked to the Inverse home and Luna led the group to a locked shed. Removing a key from her waistband, Luna unlocked the door and opened the shed.

Lina looked in and saw what looked like a fat ballista bolt. "What is that thing? It's made of metal and has a chamber in it tha can hold something. But there isn't a siege engine in the world that can use it."

"It's what we found you in," Luna said. "Mom and dad explained it to me. It looked like a shooting star when it was in the sky. Dad thought Zefillia was under attack and sent everyone to their stations while he checked this out. What he found was a baby girl inside this thing and wondered why. He sensed no hostile emenations from the device or from the baby girl, so he decided to raise the child as his own. That chld was you. Mom had spent the last three months sick in bed, so they came up with the plausible story that she had just given birth to you and that curtailled any curiosty that might have arisen about you. As to the supposed attack, Dad gave the reason that a Mazoku did that just to cause us some terror."

Lina slumped to her knees. "How could you hide this from me?"

Luna put a hand on Lina's shoulder. "They didn't want to upset you. They don't know why your birth parents did that. I was told about this shortly after you left on your travels. So, I didn't know either."

Lina jumped to her feet and headed for the device. "Maybe there's something here that can tell me who I am."

"Good luck. There is no magical emenations comming from any of that stuff."

Lina ignored her and scavanged through the metal object. She pulled out a small box with some weird writing on it. Lina touched the writing and was amazed as the thing started glowing. An image of a man appeared over the box.

"Kara. Kara Zor-El. I am your father Zor-El. You are the last survivor of the planet Krypton. I wish we could have been there with you, but there was no time. Only the test rocket ship had been completed before the explosion of our planet. I gave you the chance to live by placing you in the test rocket and firing it towards a primitve planet that had inhabitints that looked like us. As you grow older, the yellow sun that provides warmth to that planet will grant you powers far beyond those of that world. I only hope that a loving family raises you in the way that nature denied us The data pack you hold has Krypton's knowledge and history."

Lina stared as the data pack as the image of Zor-El faded away. "My name is Kara?"
